## Moriah Chapel Trust ## Annual Report 2020-2021 ## Aim and purpose Moriah Chapel Trust is a charity that oversees the maintenance of several properties, one of which is a listed church building located in the town of Blaenavon in South Wales. The organisation is a registered charity and is run by the trustees. ## Objectives and Activities The primary objective of the charity is to ensure that the main property is maintained to ensure it is safe to use for religious services. Income is derived through property rentals, property sales and donations. ## Achievements and Performance During the initial period, the charity has been setup, steps to register the property on the land registry have been started and the work has started on the residential property to prepare for sale has also begun. The main property is currently being occupied by Victory Church Blaenavon and is used for religious weekly services. ## Financial Review During this period the setting, up of a bank account was hindered due to COVID restrictions, the bank account not been completely ready for use until August 2021. During this period there was no income and no expenditure resulting in a balance of £0 in the bank account. ## Structure and governance ## Trustees The church as a registered charity has trustees. These are: Mr Mark Harris Ms Sara Harris Mr Nick Walters The trustees are responsible for all legal, ethical and financial matters. The financial statements of the trustees have been prepared in accordance with the Church Accounting Regulations 2006 using the Receipts & Payments basis. 2. It was agreed by the trustees that due to the income being below the required £25,000 threshold that an external examiner’s report was not required. The accounts were prepared by trustee Nick Walters. 3.
