LYMPHOMA UK REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES

## FOR THE YEAR ENDED 5TH APRIL 2024

## REGISTERED CHARITY NO. 1190725

The trustees are pleased to present their report and financial statements for the financial year ending 05 April 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting.

## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES**

The relief of sickness and the preservation of health of people suffering from blood cancer diseases by the provision of financial assistance for research into the causes and possible curers for such cancers.

The charity's primary activity is to raise awareness and improve survival rates into lymphoma blood cancer. It achieves its aims by hosting a variety of fundraising events throughout the year and indeed through generous donations from the public and our partners.

## **FINANCIAL YEAR IN REVIEW**

In summary, The Trustees are pleased to report encouraging signs of growth in the past financial year. With the adoption of a new working name 'LYMPHOMA UK' the charity has continued to grow and allowed us to become more transparent in its messaging to potential donors which has had a direct impact on our fundraising efforts.

Thanks to the introduction of contactless donations we've been able to cater to a wider range of potential donors. Something which was lacking in our past efforts.

In November, we were pleased to put our first major public fundraising event since our inception, this was in the form of a local charity ball.

The event was a success with encouraging feedback from guests, further allowing us to raise awareness of our cause.

This has allowed us to continue to make substantial grants to medical researchers at the Southampton Centre For Cancer Immunology to undertake clinical cancer trials into lymphoma blood cancer and in this financial period we are pleased to report that we have granted £4,727 for research into the disease.

The Trustees would like to extend their gratitude to our volunteers and everybody who has donated and supported us during this financial period. We would also like to extend a special thanks to the Directors of Paultons Park Limited who have once again gone above and beyond to support our cause.

**INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF LYMPHOMA UK**

## **Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Lymphoma UK**

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of Lymphoma UK (the Trust) for the year ended 05 April 2024.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under Section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by Section 130 of the Act; or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
