## Annual Report to Trustees 2021/22 By David Purslow (Trustee) 

## _**Introduction**_ 

_The Charity was formally registered on 3[rd] August 2020 with the aim to provide a focus for supporting children and young people’s education and wellbeing._ 

## _**Projects Overview**_ 

## _**Christmas Boxes Project 2021**_ 

_The aim was to again provide vulnerable children across Shrewsbury with a little extra at Christmas in the form of a box of presents and treats. This year we worked in collaboration with Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin Social Care Teams to provide parcels for all the children in Shropshire who are housed in refuges or temporary accommodation._ 

_Funding came from a number of sources, with the bulk being a grant from the MCF and SMCA along with generous donations from individuals and Masonic Lodges across the county. This was used for purchasing presents for 252 Children aged 3-11. A group of volunteers wrapped the presents and they were delivered to the Care Team offices for distribution ready for Christmas._ 

_The project yielded £4,638 and with a carried over balance had a working capital of £1,560. An average of £11 was spent on each child, along with a significant addition of books from The Rotary Club and treats from Shrewsbury Food Hub. This project will continue next year._

## _**Baby Stop**_ 

_Starting on 20[th] April 2021 the project asked the following via Social Media, leaflet drops and other media outlets:_ 

_Outgrown the babygrow?_ 

_A pack of Nappies too small for them? A must-have item that baby’s not interested in? Have you any new or nearly new baby items?_ 

_We all feel the pinch of a new baby, why not donate any spare items and help make a new family’s life a bit_ 

_easier._ 

_Gain space and redistribute to new Mums by recycling , reusing and reducing waste’ Let’s put it to good use and stop the waste by donating it to our Baby Stop!_ 

_Initially utilising the Martin Wilson School nurture Hub on a monthly basis, the aim was to eventually develop further satellite operations across the county. This developed into the concept of “Pop-Up BabyStop”, this would move around to different communities offering a mobile version of the original concept._ 

_With the generous support of a grant from Shrewsbury Town Council the Pop-Up trailer was kitted out and over the year 10 pop-ups planned._ 

## _**Administration**_ 

_Over the year the school has provided copying and storage space. It is our intention to formalise this if funds eventually allow. However, we will make again make a donation to the Friends of £150 towards any costs incurred._
