TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 2025
The Trustees of the Village Club have enjoyed another successful year in their status as a CIO Charity, fulfilling their objects. This has been achieved by maintaining the Club and its grounds in good working order and using the Club for a wide range of events for the village and the surrounding area. The Club is available for private hire and acAvity levels are saAsfyingly good.
AcAviAes in the year have again included: a number of successful talks by eminent speakers; a highly rewarding annual Art & CraF fair, very popular monthly Club Coffee mornings, a very well aHended village fete, mulAple bookings of the Club by regular and one-off users, and conAnued emphasis on fabric issues.
During the year new disabled toilet faciliAes were installed. The finances remain in a sound state and future plans include addiAonal new double gazing, redecoraAon, and maintenance of the grounds. A range of funding avenues are being explored in the hope that this work can be funded in 2026.
Trustees are mindful of the need to demonstrate public benefit which they do by running a range of acAviAes which are open to all-comers. The two tenants lodged on Club land also contribute to the public good - the Scouts by running an acAve pack, and the Tennis Club by using the Charity’s courts for players of all ages and standards from the village and surrounding areas.
In 2026, there will be a conAnued emphasis on public benefit not least through high levels of usage, talks on issues of topical interest, and the annual Art & CraF fair.
