GOODWORTH CLATFORD VILLAGE CLUB CIO CHARITY NUMBER 1190564
TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 2023
The Trustees of the Village Club have enjoyed the third year in their new status as a
CIO Charity, and have been active in fulfilling the objects of the Charity. This has
been achieved by maintaining the Club and its grounds in good working order and
using the Club for a wide range of events for the village and the surrounding area.
The Club is available for private hire and activity levels are satisfyingly good.
The Club celebrated its IOOth anniversary during the year by holding a tea party
which was extremely well attended. A photograph was taken of all 167 attendees
outside the Club entrance. The named prints are available for all, and also provide an
important historic reference point in the history of the Club. A painting and a line
drawing of the Club were commissioned to commemorate this anniversary. The Club
facilitie5 were used for a village lunch party to celebrate the Coronation.
The finances remain in a sound state and during the year work on trees was carried
out and replacement double glazed windows for the steward's flat were authorised.
The Trustees are pursuing a number of improvements to the 100 year old premises
and are encouraged by the continual good utilisation of the Club facilities. Trustees
are mindful of the need to demonstrate public benefit which they do by running a
range of activities from the village fete to quiz nights, coffee mornings, lectures, as
well as the highly successful annual art and craft weekend. The two tenants lodged
on Club land also contribute to the public good the Scouts by running an active
pack, and the Tennis Club by using the Charity's courts for village players of all ages
and standards.
