l. Relieve those in need in Nepal, particularly people who are
disadvantaged due to youth. age. ill-health. disability. or social and
economic circumstances. through the provision and coordination of
education. health. and other support services.
2. Promote social inclusion in the UK. particularly within the Nepalese
Community. by reducing isolation. encouraging participation in the
wider community. and improving access to services.
3. Advance education by promoting Nepalese language. heritage, culture.
and the arts through educational proBrammes and community
activities.
4. Provide and support educational, recreational, and leisure-time
facilities in the UK, particularly for members of the Nepalese
community. in the interests of social welfare and improving quality of
lrfe.

In furtherance of its charitable purposes and for the public benefit, Sonpal
Samaj Charity undert¢x)k the following activities durinÉ the year..
l. Fundraising for humanitarian Causes
The Charity organised fundraising activities in support of Mtjnjushree
Children's Flome. contributing to the welfare, care, and development of
children in need.
2. Support for religious and spiritual institutions
Donations were made to Buddhist Gumbo Reoding and Diomond
Buddhist Centre to support religious practices and the advancement of
Buddhist teachings for the benefit of the wider community.
3. Promotion of peace and harmony
The Charity organised fundraising for the Konkyur Recitation Puja. a
religious ceremony involving the recitation of sacred texts by tens to
hundreds of monks over several days. Thi5 event is held to promote
peace, harmony, and spiritual well-being Wlthin the community and
beyond.
4. Advancement of youth partlclpatlon and cultural developrnent
The Charity promoted youth engagement by providing young people
with opportunities to perform during the Annual losor and Summer
Gotherings, rather than engaging external guest artists. This supported
confidence-buildin& cultural identity. and community involvement.
5. Llfe membershlp programme
The Chaiity continued to focus on and promote its life membership
programme. encouraging long-tem) engagement. mutual support, and
the sustainability of the Charity's activities.
6. Support for bereaved famllles and memorlal fundralslng
The Charity organised charitable events to provide financial and moral
support to the families of deceased life members. Condolence visits and
support were provided during funeral services, including assistance
with traditional rituals held on the 13th day IArghunl and the 49th dav
following the passing of a member. In some cases. members raised
funds in memory of their loved ones, which were donated to the
Charity to support its charitable work.
7. Famlly and communlty support through home vlslts
Home visits were conducted to welcome and congratulate families on
the arrival of new babies during the year. These vi51ts strengthened
community bonds and provided emotional support to members,
families.
8. Cultural •nd communlty en838ement durln8 Dlwall
Durin8 Diwali, the Charity organi5ed a cultural event promoting the
traditional Deusi/8hiJtlo programme. This event encouraged cultural
preservation, soci31 en8a8ement, entertainment, and community
cohesion, while also raising funds to support the Charitvs activities.
9. Promotion of education and personal development
The Charity undertook various home visits and community interattions
to promote education and personal development. This included
providing guidance at the start of university life, con8ratulatinÈ
members on graduating from university, and recognising career
progression and professional achievements. thereby encouraging
positive life outcomes within the communitv.

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
During the year. Sonpal Samaj Charity made positive progress in delivering its
charitable objectives and providing public benefit through a range of
humanitarian. religious. cultural. and community-focused activities.
The Charity successfully supported vulnerable beneficiaries through targeted
fundraising initiatives. including financial assistance for Manjushree Children's
Home and bereaved families of life members. These activities helped to alleviate
hardship. provide emotional support. and strengthen community resilience
during difFicult times.
Significant contributions were made towards the advancement of religion and
the promotion of peace and harmony. Throvgh donations to Buddhist institution5
and the organisation of fundraising for the Konkyur Recitation Pula, the Charity
supported religious practice and spiritual well-being, benefiting both participants
and the wider community.
The Charity (Jemonstrated stron8 commitment to cultural preservation and
community cohesion. Events such as Losar, Summer Gatherings, ènd the Diwali
DeusilBhailo programme brought mernbers together, promoted traditional
culture. and provided meaningful social engagement. By prioritising youth
participation in these events. the Charity empowered young people. encouraged
confidence and leadership, and fostered intergenerational involvement.
Throughout the year. the Charity pla￿d emphasis on family and individual
support. Home visits to welcome new babies. offer condolences. and recognise
educational and professional achievements strengthened personal connections
within the community and reinforced the Charity's role as a source of guidance.
encouragement. and mutual support.
The life membership Programme continued to be promoted, contributin8 to
sustained engagement, long-term commitment, and the ongoing stability of the
Charity. Memorial fundraising by members in honour of deceased loved ones
further demonstrated community trust and 5UPPOrt for the Charity's mission.
Overall, the Charity performed effectively during the year, delivering its activities
in line with its objectives and Charity Commission guidance on public benefit,
while continuing to build a supportive, engaged, and culturally vibrant
community.

The Trustees have examined the need for free reserves. i.e. those unrestricted
funds not invested in tangible fixed assets. designated for specific purposed
and otherwise committed. At present. it is recognised that current reserve level

foreseeable future.
