The Trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025. 

## **Principal activity** 

To advance the Islamic religion for the benefit of the public and in particular but without limitation through the holding of prayer meetings, education, lectures, public celebration of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature on the Islamic faith to enlighten others about the Islamic religion 

## **Trustees** 

The following Trustees held office during the whole of the period:

## **Statement of Trustees' responsibilities** 

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the report and accounts in accordance with applicable law and regulations. 

Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare accounts for each financial year. Under that law, the Trustees have elected to prepare the accounts in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under Charity law the Trustees must not approve the accounts unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and of the Net Income or loss of the Charity for that period. In preparing these accounts, the Trustees are required to: 

- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; 

- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; 

- prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will continue in business. 

The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. 

## **Qualifying third party indemnity provisions** 

A liability is measured on recognition at its historical cost and then subsequently measured at the best estimate of the amount required to settle the obligation at the reporting date 

## **Charity policy on the employment of disabled persons** 

No one was employed during the year 

## **Small Charity provisions** 

This report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to small companies within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.

For the year ending 31 March 2025 the Charity was entitled to exemption from audit under section 479A of the Companies Act 2006 relating to subsidiaries. The members have not required the Charity to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006. 

The Trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts. 

These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies' regime and in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A - Small Entities and the charity law. 

The financial statements were approved by the Board of Trustees and authorised for issue on 23 August 2025 and were signed on its behalf by

## **1 Statutory information** 

GUINEAN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION OF GLOUCESTERSHIRE is a Charity, registered in England and Wales, registration number 1190551. The registered office is 10 GOODYERE STREET, GLOUCESTER , GL1 4UG. 

## **2 Compliance with accounting standards** 

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A Small Entities and charity law. There were no material departures from that standard. 

## **3 Accounting policies** 

The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts. 

## _**Basis of preparation**_ 

The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets. 

## _**Presentation currency**_ 

The accounts are presented in £ sterling. 

## _**Going concern**_ 

There are no going concern issues to report in the financial year 

## _**Government grants**_ 

Government grants in relation to tangible fixed assets are credited to Net Income and loss account over the useful lives of the related assets, whereas those in relation to expenditure are credited when the expenditure is charged to Net Income and loss. 

## _**Basis of accounting**_ 

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with: 

The Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014 

And the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) 

And with the Charities Act 2011. 

The charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102 

## _**Grants and donations**_ 

Grants and donations are only included in the SoFA when the general income recognition criteria are met (5.10 to 5.12 FRS102 SORP). 

In the case of performance related grants, income must only be recognised to the extent that the charity has provided the specified goods or services as entitlement to the grant only occurs when the performance related conditions are met (5.16 FRS 102 SORP).

The charity has not received government grants in the reporting period
