Organisation {CIO) which was registered with the Charity Commission on the 20 July 2020 (Registered
Charity Number 1191)479)
GovernAnce
The charity is governed by it's eonstitution approved on IV July 2020.
The R¢¢lor of Aston Clinton benefi¢e with Buckland and Drayton Beau¢hamp is an ex otTicio Trustee. The
remaining ttvslees are appointed at the At￿Ual G¢neral Meeting {AGM)
The Charity is run by a MdnagemeDt Committee, whiGh consist of th¢ Ttusl¢¢s, one rePre￿￿tatiVe Of Aston
Clinton Parish Council member and elected comrnittee members. A quonm of five committee members is
required for decision making purposes. Trustees and committee memberg ar¢ approved at the AGM. Members
can be cfropted by the Mr4nagement Committe¢ betweon AGMS.
Objectiy
The charity own$ and manages The Anthony Hall, a village hall within the villag¢ of Aston Clinton,
Buckinghamshire. The Anthony Hall is for th¢ communal benefit of the residents of Aston Clinton and the
surrounding ar¢as. It is heavily used, with bookings for fund raisin& social events. reputable commercial
¢vents, meetings and is the venue of the loca] Pre-school. l( is also used for public mectings on lo¢al issues. as a
polling station and ig designated ￿ an emergency shelt¢r in ¢vent of disaster.
The Anthony Hall and the land on whi¢h it is built was gifted into trust by certain members of the Rothschild
family in 1929 to be used for the benefil of the Parish of Aston Clinton. th¢ inhabitants thereof and for ¥cn¢ral
public purposes. It has Continued to be so used since tha¢ tim¢.

demonstrate the provision of benefit to th¢ public.
Aetlvtltes
The main activity of the charity is the provision of community ha]1 faciliti¢$ for the use of the village. Th¢
Charity's policy is to charge fixed hourly rates for the hire of the hall, offering a discount for village based
organisations as well as providing the hall free of eh8rge for use by the Parish Council for community
information events, for example in respect of the Neighlxjurhood Plan.
The Flall is used by a numbcr of local charitie5 such as the Aston Clinton Pre-S¢hool. the local Parish and
Baptlst Chur¢hes and well a5 th¢ IOCAI Woman's Institutr. U3A and Horticultural Society.
The rental incorne for hiring ihe hall ig used to maintain and r¢novate the 19th Century Grade 11 listed building.
Th¢ Managemcnt Committee sets th¢ hourly cknging T8t¢s in order to ¢nsuTe th* it remains an affordabl¢ and
desirable venue for use by the local community.
Flnanelal Revlew
During the year the charity made a profit of £7,900. Revenue from hall hirings has in¢reased significantly over
th¢ previou5 year due to increased hall usage. Exp¢nses have a150 incrcas¢d, primarily from increased utility
ost5 and the takin8 on of a paid bookings secreiary to Tnanage the increased number of hall hlrings.
No third party guarantees have be¢n provided for the liabilities of the chaTity

Reserves Policy
It is the policy of th¢ charity that sufficient reserves are held to Continue to tn¢et the objectives of the ¢harity.
The charity airns to hold re￿rVeS equivalent to two years of running costs, approximately £50,000, plus an
additional $um that the Trustees consider adequate to eov¢r unforeseen building work. The level of reserv¢s
held as at 31° December 2022 ar¢ £69,865

and insured for £1.5m
The portrpdit of th¢ daughters of Sir Anthony de Rothschild, by James Godsell Middletoi),
dated aiDund1860 was 8ifted lo the hall by the Rothschild family of Aston Clinton. In 2013
this was loaned to the Rothschild archive trust on a Iw¢nty five year lease and is on display
in the premises of ROth￿￿tId & Co in the City of London. It is valued at £30,000.
