Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
The Cylch Meithrin provides pre-school education and care to children aged 2 to 4 years old through the medium of Welsh. A board of Trustees / voluntary management committee manage the Cylch Meithrin providing line management and support to staff. The Cylch Meithrin is registered by CIW and the last inspection date was on 23 May 2024. We were also inspected by Estyn on 23 May 2024. The Cylch’s aim is to provide every child and family with the opportunity to learn new experiences through the medium of Welsh offering them a sound foundation on their journey to a bilingual education and life. This is achieved through various activities that promote children's physical, creative, personal and social skills as well as developing their numeracy and linguistic skills. The majority of children that attend the Cylch come from non-Welsh speaking homes and parents and their families are given every opportunity and encouragement to learn Welsh with their children. This is achieved through signposting them to local Welsh language courses, encouraging family activities at home e.g. projects that encourage families to learn together. The Cylch employs two substantive members of staff, both of whom hold a childcare qualification and are responsible for the day to day running of the Cylch. Cylch is open 5 days a week and provides a range of activities for children and families including joint fundraising |
