They will support the CEO with strengthening and growing the charity and coordinating the partnership teams, to ensure Helpline clients receive consistent, high-quality support during every call, and to enable the charity to support increasing numbers of clients.
All safeguarding procedures and policies were reviewed and updated by an specialist external safeguarding agency.
Extensive and ongoing fundraising work was done to secure funding for the charity.
The volunteer team attended safeguarding, data protection and cyber security training sessions. They also received training on trauma-informed practice as part of a continuing professional development programme.
An experienced supervisor was appointed to ensure the team receives regular support sessions, to develop their practice and keep them healthy and supported.
Ongoing work with the data protection officer further strengthened the charity’s processes and policies.
The charity appointed an additional safeguarding officer who is very experienced in working with vulnerable people.
The Charity Commission completed a review of PCH and was happy with the governance and compliance of the charity.
