Report of the Trustees
The trustees have pleasure in presenting the annual report and accounts for the charity for the first period ended 31 July 2021
1 Objectives and activities
The primary activities of the charity is supporting people with an unplanned pregnancy, or following on from an abortion.
2 Achievements and performance
During the past year of starting work as a charity and piloting the Helpline systems, the Board has celebrated a number of achievements.
Over the course of the year 14 volunteers have been recruited and either trained or in training, and the charity has provided a service to approximately 500 callers.
The appointment of four trustees including the Chair was finalised and it was formally agreed by the Board to engage Regan King as the charity's Chief Executive, effective from 20th July 2021.
The charity's key technology was set up, including the helpline which utilises the RingCentral digital phone system to allow for remote call-handling across our volunteer base, a website, Google Ads, and ZenDesk which allows for web-chat capability.
The Board has established the charity's purpose and ethos through the drafting of its constitution and the creation of its Guiding Principles document, which is to be referred to by all Board members, staff and volunteers. It is in the process of agreeing a fundraising and growth strategy, with plans to hold charity launch events in the near future. Two patrons have been appointed, and a few others are being approached.
3 Financial review
There was a surplus of £5,643 on general funds over the period.
4 Structure, governance and management
The Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, charity number 1190460, and was registered with the Charity Commission in 2020.

Notes to the Financial Statements
1 Accounting Policies
The Financial Statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis in accordance with Section 133 of the Charities Act 2011.
2 Donations
Donations are recognised when received by or on behalf of the charity.
3 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised in the year in which it is incurred and allocated to the appropriate category.
4 Related party transactions
The charity has paid R. King, the CEO of Pregnancy Crisis Helpline, for consultancy during the period.
During this period, services totalling £3,148 were provided to the Pregnancy Crisis Helpline by Narkan Ltd, a company for which Toby Cosh is owner and director. A total of £1,202 was paid directly by the Charity with the remaining £1,946 being funded by the Prolife Alliance who provided some initial funding for Pregnancy Crisis Helpline.
