## **Objectives and Activities**

||SORP reference||
|---|---|---|
|Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document|Para 1.17|**We are fundraising to raise enough**
**funds to purchase a log cabin in the**
**lake district for young adults with**
**cancer to holiday in.**|
|Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.|Para 1.17 and
1.19|**Main activities in the period were of**
**individual fund raising events, monthly**
**standing orders from loyal supporters,**
**the annual ball and new in 2024 was a**
**music festival. We also had someone**
**cycle to every Blackburn away game**
**amongst other generous activities that**
**resulted in a record year of income by**
**over 64% on the previous best year**
**ending 2023. During this financial period**
**we did achieve our goal and secured a**
**lodge in the Lake District site Haven**
**Lakeland of which half of the funds had**
**been paid on the 30th April and balance**
**was paid on the 1st May 2025. The lodge**
**was fully booked during 2025 with 13**
**families taking advantage of this**
**wonderful opportunity we have all been**
**able to provide.**|
|Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit|Para 1.18|**Trustees have strong regard for the**
**guidance issued by the Charity**
**Commission on public benefit.**|

## **Achievements and Performance**

|Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.|Para
1.20|**For the year ending April 2025 we did see a**
**139% increase in net contribution from**
**fundraising due to some incredible efforts**
**from everyone associated with the foundation.**
**After a disappointing prior year, the run rate**
**would have seen us fall short of our 5 year**
**target of purchasing a lodge in the lakes. This**
**potential shortfall spurred the team on and**
**thanks to some fantastic fundraising events**
**and pulling off an incredible summer festival**
**(we even surprised ourselves how awesome it**
**was!) we managed to have a record year and**
**ultimately shake hands on a stunning luxury**
**lodge on a family friendly fantastic site in**
**Lakeland Haven.**
**Main contributors to the foundations success**
**in year 5 was the festival £9k profit, 3 peaks**
**challenge £7k and Lewis doing the Wild Rover**
**challenge which raised £12k.**
**Very generously we continue to be supported**
**by other efforts, largely people supporting the**
**foundation by taking on individual challenges**
**such as sport / exercise related fundraising.**
**Thank you to all of our kind supporters and**
**donators during the period.**
**We have all rallied together, had a record year**
**which put us in a position to complete a lodge**
**purchase in this financial year. This is**
**something we are all incredibly proud of.**
**As we used up all funds purchasing the lodge,**
**we did agree to let the site have access to it**
**for half of the year which meant we didn’t have**
**to cover the site fees. The charity committee**
**agreed this was in the best interest of our**
**cause as it allowed us to purchase the lodge**
**12 months earlier than would have been**
**possible which resulted in 13 families battling**
**cancer having free holidays.**
**The lodge was fully utilised in 2025 with all**
**referrals coming from our Trustee Hannah**
**who continues to work at The Christie Cancer**
**Hospital Manchester.**
**We are already improving and leaving positive**
**memories on those who need it the most and**
**on public record we want to thank everyone**
**who has supported us achieving our goal.**
**The lodge needs c.£20k per year in order to**
**cover site fees, cleaning and other running**
**costs so our journey continues whilst we**
**continue our mission.**|
|---|---|---|

**Financial Review**

|Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period|Para 1.21|**As the only expenditure the charity has**
**are some marginal transaction fees,**
**costs to host the summer festival**
**(£10.8k) and annual ball costs (£1.9k).**
**Due to no fixed overheads and being**
**supported purely through volunteer**
**labour, the financial position of the**
**charity is strong with no risk of financial**
**loss. Net contribution % of charitable**
**income is 75.3% with the only**
**expenditure as described above.**|
|---|---|---|
