The Objects Of The CIO Are:3.1 To Provide For The Advancement Of Public Education And In Particular But Without Prejudice To The Generality Of The Foregoing In The History And Development Of Psychiatry And The Relationship Between Art And Psychiatry3.2 To Provide And Maintain A Museum For The Benefit Of The Public Comprising A Collection Of Paintings Watercolours Drawings Documents Books Artefacts Tapes Slides Photographs And Other Objects Relating To The History And Development Of Psychiatry And The Relationship Between Art And Psychiatry (the Collection)3.3 To Accept The Ownership Of (except For Any Archives Or Public Records In The Possession Of The Governing Body) And To Safeguard And Maintain And Administer Such Paintings Watercolours Drawings Documents Books Artefacts Tapes Slides Photographs And Other Objects As Shall From Time To Time Together Comprise The Collection3.4 To Safeguard Maintain And Administer The Public Records And Archives Generally In The Possession Of The Governing Body Subject To The Provisions Of The Public Records Act 1958 And 1967 Or Any Future Legislation Of A Similar Nature
