Charity Commission – Trustees Report – October 2022 - October 2023. 

The Trustees are:  John Heron, Ronnie Marston,  Paul Clatworthy and Neil Walker. 

With regard to our weekly collections, we have sent gifts to Christian Missions with a view to spreading the news about the Christian Faith in the UK and around the world including contacts in Ukraine. 

Some of those missions were:  Emmaus Bible School, Gideons Uk (now called “Good News for Everyone”), Open Air Mission, Barnabus Fund, Samaritans Purse, The Faith Mission, Christians Against Poverty, Opal Trust, Logos Ministries International, Mission Aviation Fellowship, MedicaL Missionary News and Open Doors.  Some of these missions are working with people who are very poor and cannot afford food, medicines or Bibles etc. 

Our contact with the local community is also made by visiting “door to door” as we have for many years, delivering a Christian Newspaper.  We were also very happy to support a local food bank.  On several occasions we have supported those who were in financial difficulty, some of which were not church members.  We have a monthly Coffee Morning which is well attended. 

As a Church, over many years, we have set up displays (exhibitions) of “Bible stories” such as “the birth of Jesus,” and the “Life of Jesus.”  These presentations were carried out in the Church building and also in Schools. Some of our members visit schools to present New Testaments and take “Assemblies.” 

We are always striving to have a greater influence in our town and surrounding villages, showing friendship and interest in the lives of local people. There is a Church website which is used widely to explore all our activities and links so that anybody can listen to the sermons.  This is helpful to those who are unable to attend physically in person.
