Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

Our approach to<br>donations is to give as much as we can while maintaining the<br>foundation’s ability to sustain donations over the medium to long term.|

||The Trustees take a prudent view regarding the investment of surplus<br>funds. The Trustees continue to believe that the most appropriate policy<br>for investing funds is with Ruffer LLP. Ruffer seek to be responsible<br>investors,<br>fully<br>integrating<br>environmental,<br>social<br>and<br>corporate<br>governance issues into their investment process. The fund has strict<br>restrictions on investment in alcohol, armaments, gambling, pornography,<br>predatory lending, tobacco, oil sands and thermal coal. There was no<br>additional investment made in the year (2024: £Nil). The fund made £Nil<br>capital gain in the year (2024: £Nil) and received dividends of £4,754<br>(2024: £4,319) during the year. All gains and dividends were reinvested<br>in the fund. At the year end the fund’s market value was £164,710 (2024:<br>£157,291).|

||The charity’s unrestricted reserves are represented by cash in an<br>interest-bearing bank account (Separate Designated Client Account with<br>Layzells), the foundation’s solicitors client account and are invested with<br>Ruffer LLP.<br>Trustees revised their view on the level of funds held in cash. It is now<br>believed that the foundation’s unrestricted cash reserves should be kept<br>at no higher than £5,000. This level of funds is based on the annual cash<br>requirements covering all administrative and professional fees.|

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the year ended 31 July 2025. 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Charity, you are responsible for the **basis of report** preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
