Promised Beginning continues to develop procedures and policies where appropriate to address any matter arising as and when appropriate. Currently, Trustees are experienced professionals who are offering their time and resources voluntarily. As the charity is established policies will be developed for induction and training for future Trustees recruitment. Promised Beginning completed registration in the United Kingdom with a subsidiary in Tanzania and is the process of registering a subsidiary in Uganda. These subsidiaries will be governed based on the laws and regulations of the respected countries. Promised Beginning has initiated contacts with the Ministry of community Development, gender and children, as well as Kinondoni District Ward and Kinondoni District where we have an introduction letters issued to PB. - Furthermore, PB is working with various ministries in Uganda and Ocala village to obtain and submit the necessary documentations required to complete the registration process in Uganda. PB has, additionally been granted Microsoft 365 packages to assist with communications, document processing and storage by Microsoft. Lastly, PB is developing a website to support in the provision of information to communicate with the public, especially donors who would require updates on charity activities. ## **Section C Objectives and activities** The objects are: 1. Promised Beginning ## **Tanzania** Promised Beginning have been established relation with the local authorities, schools and beneficiaries in order to acquire data, which will be used for proposal to seek funds. Trustees have high regard for Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit which will be applied in all projects in Tanzania. ## **Uganda** Promised Beginning is in the process of registration in order to acquire **Summary of the main** data for beneficiaries. Other policies include Safeguarding, Grant Making, Equality Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Safety. You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: - policy on grant making; - policy programme related investment; - Contribution made by volunteers. **Policy programme related to investments** N/A **Contribution made by volunteers** Promised Beginning now has ten volunteers who have travelled to meet with officials to gather information to be used for registration in Tanzania and Uganda, they have had meetings with officials, local leaders and head teacher at Kitunda to gather beneficiary’s data. Volunteers have also raised funds which is being used to reimburse cost incurred for administration and travel cost. Promised Beginning Section D Achievements and performance Promised Beginning Section D Achievements and erformance p ## **Summary of the main TANZANIA achievements of the charity during the year** ## **Registration** Trustees submitted its formal application to Tanzania Local Governments also to the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups in Tanzania, Promised Beginning was successfully registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Tanzania. ## **Partnership** The Charity plan to work in partnership with schools and local authorities at Kitunda and Ocala to support disadvantaged children and young people. ## **Beneficiaries** The Charity requested and received general data from Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF) of beneficiaries living in extreme poverty. There are arrangements to plan meetings and workshops to meet parents to encourage them to participate in their children’s learning. ## **Office Space** Promised Beginning acquired office space in Dar es Salaam where volunteers carry out administration work. ## **Annual Report and Accounts** Tanzania is in the process of submitting its first audited annual report. ## **UGANDA** ## **Registration** Trustees underwent a vetting process by Interpol Uganda to acquire Certification of Good Conduct, which is equivalent of DBS. They are now in the initial process of seeking recommendation from Internal and Foreign Ministries to register as well as Ministry of Education and other local relevant authorities to register Promised Beginning as a NonGovernmental Organization (NGO) in Uganda. The process has taken longer but Trustees in Uganda are confident that once all documents are in place the application will be granted.
