Aikyam UK is a charitable incorporated organisation governed by its Constitution. The charity’s day-to-day management is delegated to founder Keval Sachdev.

This year our achievements and performance include:

- Partnered with Egality Health to deliver presentation as part of NIHR Bio Resource programme for development grants

- We worked with local police to address the rising problem of Laughing Gas/Nitrous Oxide usage amongst young people. This was featured on ITV News

- We contributed ideas towards the #Dontstopyourfuture anti knife crime campaign which was shown by BBC starring Idris Elba

- We partnered with local organisations to organise and host an Interfaith dialogue to help build stronger community relationships in the aftermath of the Muslim/Hindu Riots that took place in Leicester

- We also provided support to a few young people who were personally affected or involved with the riots

- We took part in 7 of the 11 coffee mornings hosted by Leicester Police and Zinthiya Trust

- We were chosen by Phoenix Way UK to be one of the selected organisations to take part and represent for the Midlands Regional Advisory Forum

- We supported Egality Health in their recruitment of young people for a research project aimed at young people who require tech for their Type 1 Diabetes

- We also became a delivery partner as part of South Asian Health Actions and Egality Healths first children’s DNA project called D-CYPHR

- We also began communication with local police to offer a weapons collection service aimed at reducing violent crime by youth within LLR

- We were one of 5 selected organisations to take part in the Community Assets and Community Wealth Building Project led by The Phoenix Way, Ubele and SAHA

- We were asked to co-host and present as part of the EDIRA Building Trust Project set up by Dr Sondra Butterworth

- We regularly join Belgrave Police Officers for Neighbourhood Patrol to address Anti-Social behaviour by young people and continue work with these youngsters

- We are a stakeholder and delivery partner for SAHA on the CORE20Plus5 project by the NHS

- We continue our work with young people on the dangers of Knife Crime, Gang Affiliation and Drug Use

- We were featured on BBC on 05/08/24 to discuss the local riots and its impact on local youth

- We regularly support Missing Children campaigns

- We participated through invitation for the Intercultural event hosted by Leicester Police

- We work with youngsters to make dreams come true, an example being Raf, a young boy whose dream is to become a football commentator, and we aim to help him achieve that

- We have a ongoing partnership with Loughborough University research team and working with 10 to 15 year olds to research their relationship with food and body image. We hope this leads to future funding as part of this project

Our plans for the sustainability for the next 3 years is to work with National lottery who we now have a relationship with and believe we have more than enough evidence of work we have done for them to grant us funds which we can use to hire staff, rent a local youth space and deliver on more amazing projects.
