Provision of Bursaries
To provide bursaries, Year Here Foundation:

Assesses the likelihood bursary applicants experiencing financial hardship while studying. Likelihood of experiencing financial hardship is assessed on the basis of factors such as savings, net outgoings and average earnings prior to study.

Selects bursary recipients based on the above assessment of level of need. Selection decisions are made by the Year Here Foundation Board of Trustees.

Allocates bursaries and informs bursary recipients of its decision ahead of recipients’ course start date.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Decision Making
£5,000 was allocated to an individual in financial hardship undertaking a course of study in social innovation, social entrepreneurship and the skills, methods and techniques required for the establishment and management of charitable, philanthropic and benevolent institutions. The individual is due to participate in the course from February to December 2022.
Provision of Bursaries
As allocated in the 2020/21 reporting year, the Year Here Foundation successfully distributed £10,000 in grant funding as bursaries to two people completing the course over the 2021/22 academic year.
In addition, £2,500 of the aforementioned £5,000 bursary was distributed in two instalments to one individual who is completing the course over the 2022 calendar year. The remaining £2,500 is due to be distributed in the next reporting period (1[st] September 2022 to 31[st] August 2023).
