To advance education and training, in particular (but without limitation) the subjects of social innovation, social entrepreneurship and the skills, methods and techniques required for the establishment and management of charitable, philanthropic and benevolent institutions by the provision of bursaries to those in financial hardship undertaking a course of study in the subjects; and to advance any other purpose recognised as charitable under English law.

Provision of Bursaries
To provide bursaries, Year Here Foundation:

Assesses the likelihood bursary applicants experiencing financial hardship while studying. Likelihood of experiencing financial hardship is assessed on the basis of factors such as savings, net outgoings and average earnings prior to study.

Selects bursary recipients based on the above assessment of level of need. Selection decisions are made by the Year Here Foundation Board of Trustees.

Allocates bursaries and informs bursary recipients of its decision ahead of recipients’ course start date.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
- Disburses bursaries in instalments across period in which bursary recipients will be engaged in study.
In undertaking the provision of bursaries, the Trustees have had regard for the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Fundraising
Year Here Foundation successfully secured £20,000 in grant funding to distribute as bursaries to those in financial hardship undertaking a course of study in social innovation, social entrepreneurship and the skills, methods and techniques required for the establishment and management of charitable, philanthropic and benevolent institutions.
Provision of Bursaries
£10,000 in bursaries was allocated to those in financial hardship undertaking a course of study in the above mentioned subjects. The allocation of bursaries allowed these individuals to accept places on their course of study. The individuals will participate in their course in the Charity’s next reporting period (1[st] September 2021 – 31[st] August 2022). Associated disbursement of the allocated bursaries will be made in the next reporting period.
