## **Trustees Report for LVP AGM November 19[th ] 2025.** 

Launton Village Players, aka LVP, became a charity in July 2020 and we are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with a registered charity number 1190149. Our main purposes are: 

“1. To advance, improve, maintain and develop public education and appreciation of musical and dramatic art and artistic events, in particular by performing or assisting in the performance of musical productions and plays and by any other means as the trustees in their discretion shall determine 

2. To support such charitable purposes as the trustees may in their absolute discretion determine by making grants and donations according to the laws of England and Wales” 

At present we have 5 trustees:

- Lesley Watson-Burn 

- Julia West 

- Sarah Tuner 

We are updating the skills matrix and Lead Trustee roles will be reallocated in the next year.

Since November 2024 LVP has been busy and it was good to start rehearsals for “Beauty and the Beast” in November. This was another script written by Martin Evans and adapted by Julia West. We sang carols at Launton School at their Christmas Fair on December 01[st] and we sang Carols around the village on December 13[th] . This time we sang at certain locations in the village and this was very successful, raising £283.83 for the Alzheimer’s Society. 

Panto tickets were put on sale before Christmas with an “early bird” discount as well as family discounts. We are pleased to report that our shows sold well and we ended up donating £12,500.00 to The Hummingbird Centre which was our chosen charity. Our 2025 panto won the “Best Front of House and the Best Choreography” awards from the Oxfordshire Drama Network. We had a stall at the Bicester Mayor’s Charity event in Garth Park on 15[th] April 2025 and sang at Saxon Court on Saturday 20[th] September. Saxon Court donated £50 to the Firefighters Charity. On 1[st] June  we started rehearsals for our summer show “Heroes and Villains” which was a mixture of sketches and songs. The highlights included  a Superhero Skit and a 1980s finale medley.  The shows were on 12[th] and 13[th] July in the big shed theatre at Hare Leys Farm, Launton.  We did 3 shows this year and made £1700.00 which was donated to LVP’s Stage Block Fund. 

Rehearsals for our 39[th] pantomime “Treasure Island” began on 26[th] October. 

LVP has purchased the new stage and sides and these were used for our summer show. The Trustees have met regularly and reviewed our Policies and Risk Assessments as well as looking at improving our membership process and paperwork. Safeguarding meetings have been held and the spreadsheet updated. We continue to belong to ODN and NODA. We have had a full year of activities and our treasurer has carefully budgeted each production but our latest treasurer has resigned due to life pressure. 



Overall the Trustees feel that LVP has had a successful year, we have gained a new trustee and also purchased a safer and new stage block system, thereby meeting two items in our five year plan. Miles and Eileen Penhallow who are moving to Devon  have donated their two large white marquees to LVP and Bob Roberts has donated his gazebo; both donations are  much appreciated.
