Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

- Continued a successful period of R & D through summer and autumn 21 resulting in our first 100k+ proposal, accepted by Factory International, to be delivered at MIF23. 

- Secured our first Awards for All from The National Lottery in July 21 to continue working with the core group and to reach out to new cohorts with our storytelling project. 

- Collaborated with Factory International, Good Chance and Everything Human Rights to produce Little Amal’s Bedtime Stories in Wigan, Oct 21. 

- Making the most of the spaces at Islington Mill around our studio reopening we self-produced “Lockdown Lives” in November 21, an exhibition of the reflective work produced by our group during lockdown. 

- Collaborated with The Lowry and the cohorts of young homeless people that they support, over a series of workshops, to produce an open mic night in the space outside our studio in December 21. 

- Commissioned by digital PR agency Hattrick to work on a campaign promoting art for wellbeing. 

- With our Awards for All we worked with two groups, an over 65s LGBT+ group and another of under 25s LGBT+ over that winter to produce 2 fascinating and contrasting sets of stories. 

- Set up a GoFundMe account raising over 2k  Other, larger donations raised over 6k  Secured funding from We Love MCR to embark on our leadership program aimed at developing the skills of our core group towards being more effective and confident co-producers, facilitators and artists

The Charity Commission defines reserves as “income which comes available to the charity and is to be extended at the Trustees discretion in furtherance of the charity’s objectives, but is not yet spent, committed or designated”. The Trustees believe that one months of budgeted operating costs, excluding staff consultancy, should be held as unrestricted funds, approximately £100. This policy is reviewed annually.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 / 05 / 2022. 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or 

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or 

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
