Structure, governance and management
Charity Status and Structure
Moving Assembly Project is a charitable incorporated organisation governed by its constitution. It was registered by the Charity Commission in England and Wales on 25 June 2020. The trustees are the members of the Charity. In the event of a winding up the members have no liability to contribute to the payment of the charity’s liabilities.
Recruitment, Appointment and Training of Trustees
Trustees are recruited from those who share the charity's aims and aspirations and must be able to bring a breadth and depth of experience and skills to the trustee body.
Risk Management
The trustees have identified the major risks to which they believe the charity is exposed and systems have been established to minimise those risks.
Governance
The responsibility for the charity rests with the trustees who meet to both oversee governance and to make operating decisions.
Objectives and activities
The charity’s objects, for the public benefit, are to advance the education of young people aged 9 to 18 living in deprived or disadvantaged areas in South Africa or the UK by the creation of new works, the promotion of the arts, dance, film, photography and by any other means as the trustees determine. There was no activity during the year.
Plans for future periods
The trustees are reviewing whether the charity has a future.
Public benefit
The trustees have paid due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit and strongly believe in the public benefit of the charity’s activities.

Financial review
There were no financial activities during the year. The funds held at the start of the year were held at the year end.
Reserves policy
Pending clarification of the charity’s future the trustees have not set a reserves policy.
Pay policy and procedures
Trustees do not receive any payment or benefits for their work either as trustees or as volunteers and there are no employees.
Investment policy
Funds not required for current needs may be invested in investments of any kind at the absolute discretion of the trustees.
Fundraising
Pending clarification of the charity’s future there has been no fundraising.
Trustees' responsibilities statement
The trustees are responsible for preparing the trustees' report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to:

i. select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;

ii. observe the methods and principles in the applicable Charities SORP;
-
iii. make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent;

iv. prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included in the charity's website.
Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.
