2021-2022 Trustee’s Annual Report
Our church has grown rapidly in 2021-2022 because of the influx of the new Cantonese speaking people from Hong Kong. It was because Cheltenham has some of the best schools in UK. They were family with young children, some of them are believers in Christ, some were not. However, they came to join us once they settled down here. They helped the church grow from 20 people from the beginning of the year to 60 plus at the end of the year.
Thanks to our temporary pastor Ella Chan, who joined us in March. She worked very hard. She started from setting up the basic structure for the church, She also set up a temporary committee in June. Thanks for the new comers from Hong Kong, they contributed a lot to the organisation of the church, like helping to run the weekly Sunday service and Sunday schools. They definitely helped us to advance our service to non-believers in Gloucestershire.
We held weekly Sunday worship, Sunday schools for the youth and children. We also run two bible studies and one prayer meeting a week.
In May, with the easing of Covid-19, we held an Evangelical Musical concert to the people in Cheltenham and further afield, aiming to preach the Gospel to the Chinese community in Gloucestershire.
In October, we had three people come to Christ and took the baptism. In addition, we held our 20th Anniversary at church with dinner.
Lastly, we held a special Christmas service and dinner to finish off the end of the year.
