Founding Trustees were the three individuals who set up the informal group which was a precursor to the charity, along with a fourth trustee invited by consensus of these three.

The charity’s activity has mainly been consolidating following ‘pandemic’ restrictions. We attended a limited number of events where we could meet the public. Our ‘on-line’ work: responding to existing government consultations; reports; and government (Welsh and Westminster) consultations and measures; circulating our ‘Bluespace Manifesto and ‘Bluespace Reservoir Charter’. We also engaged with the planning process where we considered proposed developments to be potentially detrimental to public recreation in bluespace. 

We have continued making links with other groups/charities; updating and adding to the network with which the charity works; expanding trustees’ knowledge in relevant areas; and maintaining and increasing the on-line supporter base. 

The trustees have continued to have regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit, and benchmark all our activities against our charitable purposes.

The charity is not a grant-maker. 

The charity has not undertaken social investment. 

During the period, all the work of the charity has continued to be done by volunteers; mostly, but not exclusively, by the trustees.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

We have continued to progress our forward plan, aided by our manifesto and charter; working online and ‘face-to-face’ to reach out to people facing access and environment-related challenges, to those in a position to provide or withhold access, and to elected representatives. We were able to take part in some public meetings and events during the period. We were also able to build on relationships establis **h** ed during the previous period. 

Political focus in terms of ‘bluespace’ issues has been largely on pollution. However, public interest in access for recreation and protection of the environment has compensated for lack of ‘official’ enthusiasm.

It is not our policy to build reserves, beyond what would be needed to carry out our objectives or meet contingences which could reasonably be anticipated.

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity; 

- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted. 

Fundraising has failed to meet pre-pandemic levels in spite of putting an additional platform in place. This is disappointing but appears to be reflected across the sector in general. Currently, funds are raised from individual donations. The charity has a page on a fund-raising site for donations, but this is not performing well in the present climate; and we continue to explore other sources of funding for specific projects. 

We continue working largely online, through our manifesto and charter, while attending ‘free to exhibitor’ events to maintain engagement with the public.
