The minimum number of trustees is 3 and the maximum number is 12. Trustees retire by rotation every three years, or by resignation. New trustees are recruited from the membership by a voting process held at the Annual General Meeting of the membership.

## **Activities and Objectives for the year**

The objects of the CIO is:

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of people residing in Feock, Truro and the surrounding areas, in the county of Cornwall by the provision of facilities for participation in pilot gig rowing. Specific Aims for this year were:

To provide rowing opportunities for both racing and social participants in both Open and Womens categories for those aged 16 and over, over 40, over 50 and mixed sex classes. During the summer period to facilitate opportunities for novices to participate in rowing activities through a Learn to Row Programme.

## **Achievements and Performance (including Public benefit)**

Unfortunately the Club Chairman had to stand down early in the year for personal reasons. We were unable to appoint a direct replacement during the year with the responsibilities being shared by the senior officers of the committee with support by the Trustees.

Despite the issues off the water we saw an increase in membership numbers to 90. Individuals were able to participate in rowing activities throughout the year with weekly social rows as well as regular on and off water training including club representation at numerous regattas throughout the year. Participants ranged in age from 17 years to 71 years old with 70% being women. The Learn to Row programme was well received with 16 participants involved in an introduction to rowing.

The highlight of the year was the performances of the crews at the World Pilot Gig Championships in May with the Ladies over 16s being placed 4[th] and 16[th] , the Open over 16s being 8[th] and 12[th] and the Ladies over 50s achieving 7[th] place. This success was repeated at the Cornwall County Championships with our 3 ladies crews being placed in the top 18 positions.

## **Financial Review**

With a Gross Income of £21,307.50 and Expenditure of £23,763.91 there was an overspend of funds primarily due to necessary

repairs to the training boats and the purchase of 2 sets of new oars. However, the overall financial position still remains positive with total available funds standing at £6241.74 at the year end.
