It is for the prevention or relief of poverty in the United Kingdom and Ghana by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.’’_ ## **Trustee Selection Methods** Recruitment and appointment of new trustees would be in line with the charity constitution and with the consent of the Trustees. The criteria set for the suitable candidate would be someone who is sensitive to the needs and demands of the organisation. ## **Activities** ## **PUBLIC BENEFIT** The Trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers or duties. The charity has individuals and community-based projects and works in partnership with other organisations with similar objectives 4 ## **Achievements & Performance** Objects of the Charity, principal activities and organisation of our work When carrying out our activities in England and beyond, the trustees are mindful of the charity commission guidelines on the Public Benefits and believe that the Charity has complied with the duty in section 17 (S) of the charity Act 2011. The charity principal activities are summarised as follows: 1) The Prevention or Relief of Poverty ## Our Projects **-‘’Feed My Home now known as (HANDS OF HOPE)’’** - feeding outreach providing food parcels to vulnerable families who have children in Ghana **-‘’Safe Haven’’-** a feeding project providing food parcels for families with children in Greater Manchester. **-‘’The Restoration Programme’’** - A programme designed to provide very vulnerable women sustainability by setting them up with small businesses or helping them obtain/find employment in Ghana. **-‘’The Restoration Programme Workshops-empowerment’’-** Small workshops teaching very vulnerable women skills in order to start a small business in Ghana to escape poverty. **-‘’Hygiene Drive’’-** providing young girls/women & children with hygiene items both in Ghana & Greater Manchester **-‘’A Meal for Christmas’’-** Ensuring that children have a meal & gift during the Christmas season both in Ghana & the United Kingdom. ## **Achievements** We work towards the UN 2030 Sustainable Developmental Goals and we work within the framework of SDG1 (Zero Poverty), SDG2- (Zero Hunger), SDG 3- (Good health and wellbeing), SDG10- (Reduce inequalities). ## **We received an award from the Humanitarian Awards Global (Ghana) for Best Advocate Against Poverty for our work under the SDG1.** Despite the challenges of what the post coronavirus pandemic brought we had a successful year for Hope Hill Foundation. We were able to be a blessing to many people during a very difficult time and season. Working with a restricted income both in the United Kingdom and Ghana, we were able to provide the 5 following in both countries due to our grants, donations and kind gestures from funders and the community: ## **GHANA** - **Hands of Hope Feeding Programme** - Food Parcels delivered to provided to families in Accra & villages on a continuous basis. - 500 children/vulnerable adults fed over Christmas for ‘’ a meal for Christmas.’’ - A free ‘’health screening & food packs’’ over the Christmas period in Nkawkaw for 200 women, men and children. Volunteers were from the local hospital & community team. - **Restoration Programme** - Liquid soap workshop & local drinks workshop conducted and started small businesses for 10 women. - **Restoration Programme** - A new business started for a widow of 5 children. - **Restoration Programme-** Supporting a student nurse to remain in education by providing tools, enrolment fees and uniform. - **Restoration Programme-** Paying the accommodation fees for a university student who was very destitute. - **Restoration Programme** - Young pregnant woman provided with tools to start her hair styling business. ## **UNITED KINGDOM** - Families supported across Greater Manchester - Food parcels incl Christmas + Christmas food parcels - Culture specific food parcels - Hygiene parcels - Energy support (electricity & gas) + Food Vouchers - Christmas presents provided for families across Greater Manchester Our achievements are indicative of the hard work, dedication and commitment of our team and volunteers that effortlessly worked during the year to support those in the greatest need. We are so pleased to continue to offer support and pray that we grow from strength to strength to be able to help more people. In Ghana we have had people/food vendors donate food in kind which has been a blessing! We also had the privilege of nurses, nutritionists, healthcare workers volunteer their time and resources to support the local village to carry out health checks. We have managed to build a small team of volunteers who are from various backgrounds and hope to continue to develop as we continue to impact lives. 6 ## **Goals for 2023-2024** ## Funding & Donations We want to continue working hard to obtain funding to support our various initiatives in order to help more families. 7 ## Collaborative Work Work alongside other organisations with the same values and passions we have to give more women/children/families support and increase awareness of what we do as an organisation. ## Restoration Programme Identify the opportunity to support families to become self-reliant and continue our workshops to help women start small businesses to be able to provide for their families. ## Feeding Programme Continue to provide food parcels to struggling families. In Ghana we want to reach more rural areas where the need is the greatest. We will also continue support children especially during the Christmas Season. The cost of living has highlighted the need for greater support for people especially those already living in abject poverty. We hope that we are able to continue to relieve or prevent poverty in families.
