Steve Oscroft manages Freedom Homes. Steve along with his t8am of Mik8 Brown,
Alex and Tracey, Karen Lowe, Julie Ricci, Geoff Graham and Udi are supporting those
who attend CCC who are going through recovery.
St8ve organ ised a number of people from Anew to attend the Flxed conference at
Bolton.
The Initial obieclive of housing people and taking them through an 18￿On1h recovery
programme has become increasingty more difficultdueto the general housing shortage.
This would mean thatanyone who was engaged on the cours8 would not have
anywhere to go when they had finished IL For now, this aspect of our project will be
suspend8d.
Steve infomied us thatdue to a family need he was moving to the Derby area. This
would mean stepping down from his role in April 2024.

intervention from God. Prayer Is fundamental to ourvalues. We recognise th8 faithful
work of Val and the tearn. This is a fantsstic ass8tto the church.

2. Mission Giving AmounL thr mission giving would aim to b8 10 /0 of tnjst income
V4hen we considermisslon. we include local, national and intemational outreach
3. Mission Giving Policy. Our pollcy Is based on the following principles..
a) Ralationship-whilstthe truste8s will retsin flexibility for emergency situallons the
aim is to give resource out of relats'onship witrl Carmel Christian Centre
b) Time Limited-the trustees will not agree to any new open*nded commitmentto any
cause. All mission giving is agreed for a fixed period of ts'me and is reviewed
appropriately
c) Accountability- the tnjstees expect the reclpients, when asked wlll be accountable
for providing full detsils of expenditure and if consid8red appropriate by the trustee's
receipts or olherevidence that our giving has been used in accordance with the basis
on which itwas given.
d) Fac8 to face support- this is considered mora desirable than just providing support
on its own. Whilston occasion pure finan¢lal support is appropriate to deal with events
such as disaster relief, we would seek to help bring people to th8 pointof self-
sufficien¢ywith our mission giving.
4. The trusl does notaccept restricted giving of any nalure. all donors to the charity
should be aware Ihatgifts ¢an be used for any legal purpose that is defined under the
charities aims in Ihe trustdeed.
Charity law allt)ws a charity to accept gifts and donats'ons, which are elther restricted or
unrestricted. If a gift is unrestricted the trustees are allowed to use the funds for any
pu rpose that is part of Ihe aims and obiectives of the Trust. Restricted gifts can only be
used forthe specified reason forwhich theywere given, unless pemiission is sort and
obtained bythe giverto either change the restrictlon or make the gift un￿striCted.
There is a furthertypo of giving that is designated. Designated is still unrestrictéd
howeverthe twstees and the giver have the intentlon to use the giftfora specified
purpose, however importanlly the trustees are not bound to use the funds in this way
should, in th8iroplnion. a greater need arise and Ihey de¢lde to use the mneyfor
another need of the charity. Risk Management
All major insurable risks are su biect to nomial Churches and employee's insurance. We
also have a numberof risk management policies including Child Protection. An annual
revlew of all areas of risk Is undertaken by the Trusts8s with fhe view to remove or
miligate the likelihood or affect for all risks aff8cting the charity.
