inspire, encourage and develop young
people in Purbeck through an extensive
network of professional musicians and
instrumental and vocal teachers, providing
lessons and instruments and a programme
of interactive presentations, workshops and
ensembles.

To encourage those first steps to learning
an instrument, PYM arranges inspirational
presentations by professional musicians,

Brass, Woodwind, Strings, Percussion and
voice, when teaching staff are available.
Parents contribute a small amount
(currently £10) towards a series of group
lessons, which are then followed by lessons
for smaller groups or individuals.
PYM also supports a Big Band ensemble,
and an annual concert for young musicians
to gain performing experience.
