## **January 2022 to December 2022 Trustees Annual Report**
The year started with an application for planning permission to build our Harleston Shed on the fire station yard. There was a delay with permission being granted with a regional hold on planning consent.
Permission finally came through on 19th May 2022. We immediately started negotiations with Harleston Fire Service and Norse re groundworks for the foul water and electricity to our sheds. We were hoping that these could be done before the asphalting of the entire yard at the beginning of July but there were issues with the contractor and this wasn’t done.
Then we had problems with access to the rear of the yard. BT had given us an access licence to cross their bit of the land but Saffron Housing were not willing to do so and wanted to gift the land to another party. It was felt that there must be an easier way and so we approached Harleston Town Council to ask if they would take over ownership of the land.
The first council meeting took place in December 2022 and the decision was delayed until early 2023.
We had regular committee meetings throughout the year and also a members’ breakfast meeting in March. Regular email updates were sent to those on the mailing list.
Our AGM took place on 3rd December 2022.
Very sadly, Richard Smith, One of our trustees and original founders, died on 31st December 2022.
