charity {"the Trust"} for the yeaf ended 3010612024.

The club ran a popular and suc￿Ssful Gar boot sale
Together with Sevem Dean Lions Club. Forest of Dean Lions ran two
large fundraising events..
Lions Wild Boar Chase Mountain Bike Ride - promoting participation in
recreation. This event is very popular wrth the riders - who enjoy a day of
exercise. camaraderie, beauirful s￿nery in our area.
Lions SpeeGh House Fireworks - providing a high quality professional
display to offer an altemative to the risky prartio of individuals releasing
fireworks at home.

These events were run with the help of volunteers from local community
organisations. induding youth organisations such as local Scouts and
Guides.
Volunteers from the community enable us to run these major events.
Without the volunteers freely donating their lime and expertise we would
have much less funds to draw on throughout the year.
As well as providing grants to deserving causes within GL15 and GL16
post code areas and some international disasters, Foresl of Dean Lions
Club undertakes a numter of community service projects.
For example, a"Forest Champions" evenl was held to highlight and
celebrate achievements of individuals and groups wilhin our community.

Achievements and performance
The Wild Boar Chase mountain bike ride. in September was well
supported with well over 400 entries. The Humbug Chase- a section for
accompanied junior nders aged 8-12 years , also had a good entry.

The Speech House Fireworks" in November was ticket-only and was
sold-out. The display was enjoyed by local families and children. Children
of Primary School age and younger had free entry.
Grants with a total value of £13.3K were made to local recipients

English Bicknor Playing Field,
Scar Bandstand Rising Stars,
Marie Curie,
Hope for Tomorrow.
Newent Men's Shed.
Coalway School Playground Stencils,
Sevem Freewheelers (hospital deliveries by motorcycle)
Kids Can￿r Charity
The Victoria Centre, Lydney
A grant of £5K to Sevem Dean Lions club. part of the prO￿edS of the
Wild Boar Chase.
Many smaller grants were made to local Guides, Scouts, Societies and
individuals in need (mostly via umbrella organisationsl.
The Forest Champions event was organised to recognise individuals in
the area who have made contributions to the community. Awards
categories were.. Young Achiever. Lrfetime Achievement, Local Hero.
Contribution to Animal Welfare. Healthcare. Community Group and a
Lions special recognition award.
. jointly organised with Sevem Dean Lions Club. Bolh these events were
well supported by volunteer helpers from the community.
