Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Number of Hedgehogs admitted to the
rescue in the specified time frame: 102
Of this,
Number of Hedgehogs released: 65
Number of Hedgehogs died while in the
rescue: 24
Number of Hedgehogs euthanised in
agreement with Veterinary experts: 13
64% of hedgehogs admitted to the rescue
were released to the location, or as near as
possible to the location, where they were
found.
Had the rescue not taken in these
hedgehogs, it is highly probably that they
would have died or all been put to sleep.
This has not only helped the hedgehogs, but
also the people who have found them, as
many members of the public are in a state of
mental distress when they call to arrange to
bring in a sick or injured hedgehog. The
charity, has caused people to feel relief at
being able to take the animals somewhere
that will help them and ensure they won’t
suffer.
