|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|WVCC continues to host regular events<br>across a wide demographic of the<br>community from a tots group, to yoga<br>classes, to the gardening club, indoor bowls<br>club and open mic nights.<br>In addition we offer a full calendar of ad hoc<br>events such as food nights, supporting the<br>village show and festival-related events such<br>as Halloween kids’ disco and Christmas<br>festivities in association with the village<br>church Friends group.<br>All of these provide a safe forum for like-<br>minded people to get together to combat<br>issues of loneliness in a very rural<br>community.<br>All the activities and events staged are at the<br>request of the community identified through<br>opendays and social media.|

## **Financial Review** 

|Review of the charity’s<br>financial position at the end<br>of the period|Para 1.21|This financial year has been very positive,<br>having turned round a £6000 operational<br>loss to a £1000 operational surplus.<br>Our strategy of cutting costs and developing<br>new income streams is yielding very positive<br>results.<br>With monies awarded at the end of last<br>financial year we undertook a conversion /<br>renovation of two office spaces to let out<br>which we did successfully within a month of<br>their completion leading to a 63% increase in<br>rental income over the year.<br>With monies raised from four separate grant<br>bodies we installed solar panels and<br>batteries this year which looks likely to have<br>a very positive effect on our electricity bill<br>over the year.<br>In terms of operating income, our hall hiring<br>income was up 26%, catering sales up 13%<br>and we have begun to run ticketed events<br>which we haven’t arranged before.|
