The trustees have had regard to the public benefit guidance provided by the Charity Commission and
Can confimi that Norcliffe Chapel provides activities for the benefit of the public. By the restrictive

Over the period of the lasi 20 years income has ex¢eded expenditure atid sutpluses have been

consequently it is considered that there are no free r¢serv¢s.

The statsis of the inv¢slments ts reviewed from time to lim¢ with the investment advisers. with a view
to maximising income and avoiding capital losses. The Chapel in 8¢nernl does not make ryits.
From time to time collections are donated to specific causes.
The major risk to which the Charity is exposed is ihat of the vol8tility of ih¢ money markets. The
trustees are aware of this and they pursue a conservative investment policy.
The charity has a stable income and predictabl¢ fixed exp¢nditur¢ ewh year. So it does not ne¢d a
very large reserve. The reserve consists of a Ba￿lay$ Bank dep)sit ac¢ount.
R¢$pon$ibilitid of tbe Mamagtment Commlttee
Charity law requires the management committee to prepare financial statements for each financial
year which give a true and fair view of the affairs of the Charity tts at the balance .%heet date and of its

statements the trustees should follow best practice and:
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.
make jud8¢ments and estimatrs that att r¢&%onabl¢ And prudenL and
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless il is inappropriate to
assume that the Charity would ¢ontinue on that basis.
