## **Cornerstone Annual Return for the Period ending 31st December 2022 Trustees Report**

Cornerstone provides in person and online counselling to residents in Hampshire, Wokingham, Bracknell Forest and Surrey. Until 10th June 2020 Cornerstone was a part of St Peter’s Church, Yateley. From 10th June 2020 Cornerstone Counselling became an independent charity although the charity still operates out of the church premises and in return for a service fee receives access to counselling rooms, bookkeeping support in arranging bookings for clients.

The greatest challenge for the charity in 2022 was responding to the significant increase in demand which was in part a result of the impact on people’s lives of the Covid 19 pandemic. We met this demand by increasing the number of volunteer councillors in training and building up fundraising as a source of income. Over the year we supported 89 clients including 3 couples and in total provided 972 counselling sessions.

Whilst we have continued to offer on-line delivery, we have returned to a service that is largely delivered face to face in person. During 2022 the trustees has completed a review of the skills required n the Trustee board and this is reflected in the changes in the Trustees from June 2023.

The trustees continue to have confidence in a growing service that will continue to build on our heritage as being part of St Peter’s church (Yateley) as well as looking to develop opportunities of working in partnership with other groups in the area.
