Funds raised are then used to make donations and supp)rt local and intemational humanitarpn projects decided upon ty the membepJ of shi￿ Lions Club. The activities undertaken are enjoyed by the communty and other local charities and communty groups are invited to join in the ￿l¥It￿S lo raise their profile and to supplement their own fundraising activrties. Donattons to individuals and organisations are consmlered on a case by case basis and voted upon by club members. The charity does not use Sttial Investment but instead relies on a mixture of donations, grants, fundraising functions and sponsorship. In ensuring that this is Su￿ssful, activities are posted on social media high1￿hling hthv funds have been spent on activitie8 and donations as well as requesting support where appropriate. The members pay an annual subscription to cover the administratNe costs of running the lub with their main contribution Coming from giving their time freety. Achievements and Parfonnance Approximately 6,300 F¢ople benefrtled from the dub's ¥livities, th58 includes local people benefitting from foodbank donations, receiving free prostale testing, and community events such as Shirley Camival. In addition the club made various donations of over £12,000. The majority of the donations We￿ for Ic¢al causes bul some funds were also sent via the Lion Clubs Internalional FOundat￿n in SUPFKNt of Intemational disasters. The club continues to SUPFQrt the Lions competition for Young Ambassador of the 21 st Century by identfying candidates and supporting them through the competition pro￿$$. This is a competition which reccfv3nises and rewards youngsters between the ages of 16 and 19 who have given S￿nif￿nt serrfice lo their local communty. Youngsters be￿een the ages of 8-18 are en￿uraged and supp(ffted to become actNely engaged in voluntary V￿rk in the local community. The club is also active in distributing the Lions Message in a Bottle to vulnerable people and other chanties. Thts helps the emergency ServI￿S to save valuable time in identifying an indFvidual quickty and knowing rf Ihey have any al￿rg￿$ or take special medication. Financial Review All activities are undertaken by n*mbers, famity and friends. In this accounting period this accounted for a totsl of over 1,000 hours, all of vthich was on a voluntary basis. Funds received from the public for a Speci￿ cause e.g. prostste testing, are held as restricted funds and utilised for that purpose with any surplus being held for the following yearfs evenl.
