Prior to June 2020 IE was a Communty Amateur Sports Club. policies and procedure8 adopted for the induction and training of trustees. the charity's organisational Structure and any wider n8tsvork with which the charty works. To minimise the risk of any ham or abuse to Children. the Club has rKrt in relevant safeguarding policies, vthich ensures members with designated roles are ap[priatelY checked and qualffied arKI promotes a culiure of safeguarding and best pract throughout its membership. DuriThJ 2025. the Club reviewed all its current safeguardin9 policies and UFrfJated them as necessary to bring them in line with latest guidance from the EnglarKI and Wales Cncket Board {ECB). This process continues in 2026.
All members having regular contac with children are required to undergo an enhanced criminal records by the Disdosure and Barring Service (DBS). This indudes th8 Chairman, junior coathes and age group managers. captains and vice-captains. umpires. This information is now held on ECB'S Safe Hands Management System database. and the Club has t)een able to demonstrate that it is fully compliant. In addrtion to DBS checks, all coaches are required to compkte an online Safeguarding Young Crtcketers refreEr Col* every three years. As well as the commitsiwrt to safeguarding ¢hildren, all dubs now have a duty of care to vulnerabl8 adults. To this end, the Club has dravm up, and will implement. a Policy on Safeguarding Vulnerable adults based on ECB guidance. We have been awarded the ECB Clubmart which shows that a dub is sustainable. well run and prOVeS the right environment for its members. Our raison d'étre is playing of the game of Cricket on an amateur basis. This inclLKles the promotion of the game, the coaching of those wishing to play and any ancillary a¢tivrties associated with these including organising matches, managing. and maintaining the facilities and equipment required, maintaining links arKI affiliations with other, appropnate, organisations. Also, the supply of umpires, scorers and others that make each game go smoothly and the preparation and maintenance of the playing facilities and wtch. Ive support and partipate in local cncket leagues as well as maintaining long-standing mutually supwrtive relationships with other cricket clubs from the local area and around the county and beyond. Fundraising is done to maintain. imwove and upgrade the equipment and facilities. In all these activrties the TteeS have due regard to thè guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefft.

IYacti$, nets etc. for several teams which ay home games at the pavilion that we manage and maintain on the beautiful Vlage at Boughton Aluph. a few miles North of Ashford in Kent We have volurrteers involved in raising and ntinUe to invest in a major Fyqecl to replace our uicket pavilion. Fund raising has been affected since the pandemic with the availability of capital grants, e.g. from Sport England. and other donations, all highly impacted. This bd to the need to look again at our plans and to re-submrt our planning application, whith has now be8n apwoved by Ashford Borough Council. A project management team was appointed to overse8 the woject process of tender&lappo1ntmerrtplannlngletC. The pavilion project has continued. wrth a new attradrie timber building n(yw in place, despite several setbacks, such a8 the constru(ion firm wn9 into INuidation during the buikl. The intwnal fft out has progressed, vnth the hope that a functioning dubhouse. wsth plumbiThJ, shower5, etc 11 be ready for the start of the 2026 cticket season. The tatter 3 ¢onts'n our tradrtional participation in the local hard ball18agu88, with the Under 138 winning their league. 2025 saw the irrtroductton of some girls onty coaching sessions, with a lontem view of providing girts onty comWe cricket at some point in the future. Every year the club helps the residents of Boughton Aluph to organise and wn the Bwhton Fayre, an annual event th attracts large crowds to the green in the summer.
Section D Achievements and performance Summary ofthe main achievements of the charity during the year We. again, managed. wetty much. a full season of uicket and the game. at Boughton & Eastwell CC. c<)ntinues to thrive. In 2025 the Sunday team managed lo gain promotion in the Kent County Village League, by finishing in a respectable third place in Division Four East. We had some good wins over some Str sydes, and only bNo k)sses induding a loss to East Langdon who were the runaway league winners. 2026 sees us promoted to Dtvision Three East and fa¢e a few new teams and sets up a few juicy, local derbiès. The club is looking to push the 'competitive' league sid8 to try and FfOVKle the senior players with a great environment to come and enjoy their crickeL In addition, there were several frienthies played a Sunday. often alongside a league match showing that there is plenty of availabilty giving us the opts'on to play t games. This is mainty down to the excellent keenness of the club's junior players wantiThJ to make that step up and enjoy senior (xi(eL In SurKlay friendlies all jUnr players are encouraged and involved in the game. to gtve them the experience that they may need to push into the senior league team. But the main emFthasis with the fn'endty Xl is enjoymert and there were plenty of good days had, regardless of results. Our Ground Staff volunteern have, again. excelled. Caring for the Village Green (BowJhton Lees) and the FAaying area on it is one of the Club's greatest commrlnients, both in temis of its agreements with the Parish Council and to WOVKJe a qualty environment for playiNJ crickeL The Club has made considerable investments not jusl in monetary teThs. acquiring and maintaining essential machinery, and, where required, paying outside contractors, but also in the time commrtment from Club members. Th8 major expenditure on moss and weed Control treatment and work from outside contractors with specialist equipment has been continued and the qualty of the playing surface conts'nues to improve. Following the aUlnn renov"on. essential care and maintenance of the square conb'nues over the wnter. involviNJ initial waterlng to ensure gemination of the seed. regular mowing to enwurage densè grov/(h, applications of winter ferttliser and soil conditioner, these operations will continue until we-season wfxl( starts in the sing. The aYIng season runs from midAws1 to late September and, with matches for adutts. Under-16s, Under-13s and Under-1 Is all taking place, plus practice prtches. the playing square is fulty used. Preparation of Fmtches requires muttiple operations of mowng, scarifying. watèriro and rolling, arKI it is a baLancing acl to cary out these tasks in a timely manner when adjacent prtcTrEs might be required for comFettiive games.
