## **Trustees’ report For the year ended 1 October 2025**
The trustees present their report and the financial statements of Marcelona Sports Foundation for the year ended October 2025. These have been prepared in accordance with the Companies Act 2006, the Charities Act 2011, the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).
## **Our Objectives and Activities**
We operate across the UK targeting vulnerable and disadvantaged youth that need support and guidance. We provide opportunities for Employment, Education, Training, Mentorship, Sports and Recreation as well as Mental Health support.
Our aim is to increase education and employment opportunities to the disadvantaged young people from the most deprived areas in London. Most of those participating in our programmes are from racially minoritised communities and are in need of Mental Health Support.
We aim to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation, or other leisure time occupation, of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.
Ultimately, we are using our participants love for football and sports to invite them into education and training opportunities that will improve their future prospects and quality of life. In doing so our goal is to decrease rates of unemployment and improve the academic aspirations of our participants.
## **Achievements and Performance**
During the year 2024/2025, Marcelona Sports Foundation supported 302 young people engaged in sports and physical activity and 150 young people aged 16–24 through mentoring and counselling programmes. Participants engaged in over 32 hours of football and physical activity each week, helping to improve confidence, physical wellbeing, resilience and social inclusion.

Through partnerships with local colleges and universities, Marcelona Sports Foundation supported 11 young people studying towards degree qualifications. Alongside their academic studies, participants accessed structured fitness and sport programmes, financial assistance, accommodation support, mentoring and mental health services. This holistic approach enabled students to remain engaged in higher education while improving their wellbeing, resilience and future employment prospects.
Our provisions are driven by the feedback and progress of the young people we work with and are extremely proud of their continued growth and development, as well as their achievements.

## **Future Plans**
Moving forward the Foundation aims to;
- increase mentoring provision;
- develop and expand employability pathways;
- establish additional local authority partnerships;
- increase volunteer recruitment;
- broaden health and wellbeing programmes
- expand education programmes to support SEN learners
## **Financial Review**
In 2024/2025, funding for the charity was derived mainly from income received through an education and outreach partnership for the delivery of charitable programmes and subscriptions.
## **Structure, Governance and Management**
Marcelona Sports Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered on 5[th] June 2020.
## **Governing Document**
The charity is controlled by its governing document, its Constitution of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
## **Board of Trustees**
Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee is appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.
In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
All trustees give of their time voluntarily and receive no benefits from the charity.
The trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are responsible for safeguarding the assts of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
