A range of community events and 8Ctiwtie8 were facllhated during the year by our managemenl commtttee of 7 trustees and 19 volunteers. Much of this activity was enabled by financial support from grants, fundraising and donations. Th8s8 activities have helped strengthen our community by bringing people together. reducing isolation and fostering intergenerational relationships. A l¢)cal silver band played all the traditional tunos, Santa droppod in lo hand out gifts to all the children and young and old joined in the singlng and fortunately, as it was an outdoor event. the weather stayed dryl Fundralslng Dlsco Nlght- 8 nlght offvn and laughter held al the local scout hall, which raised £623 towards fvture activitl8S, Lltter Plcklng Hub - o)ntinued to flourish and grow. wllh a core of 18 gular volunteers who join the monthly liller pick and others who drop in. as and when they can, and a few Ihat litter pick independently. borrowing pickers and other equipment from our hub. During ihe year a lolal of27 adurts and 6 young people took part in the Ittter picks. and 365 sacks of litter were colleGted, along wf(h various other items lauch as tyres. deGkchalrs, hub Gaps, botlards) and several instances of fly lipping reported to the local authority. The total amount collected each month is reported back to our partnets Keep Wales Tidy, via an online site- thus contributing io the overall Wales-wde environmental impact as well as helping io keep our village tFdy. Families tell us that the PVCA activities offer a reat wa to t oul of the house
and meet new, lik&minded people in a laxed, fn"endly and welcoming environment. Dlrect Beneficlaries: We estimate that an overall number of 250 residents participaled in our activities. These include approximately.. 33 litter-picking volunteers (27 adults and 6 young people) - 200+ children and adults attended the Christmas Sing-along Babis Bach Babies bilingual sesslons have all been al full capacity {15 children and their parentslgrandparentsl providing bilingual story-telling, live music, dress-up and song and rhyme sessions. Indlrect ben•ficlarlo5- Our project has benefitted the whol8 community of 2,302 (population acu)rding lo the 2021 G9nsus} through improved well-being and sense of belonging, through the environmental impact of the PVCA Litter Pick hub and by helping keep the Ph8asanl fiéld as a communty leisuro amenty. Prlorltlè$ for the next year To recruit and appoint new trustees 10 fi112 vacant posts (maximum number of charity trustees is 91. An event planning subgroup of trustees and volunteèrs has recently been set up to focus on activibes and èvents. We hop8 to develop and grow this group to increase our capacity and extend our skills and expertise as a charity. To continue to develop and plan an annual programme of new and existing activities that are engaging and rèlevant to our community. To build relalionships with other local communlty groups in order to link-up and maximise our ach and positive impact within the Penyfai communty. Financial Revlew Review of the charity's financial posltlon al the end of the period Pw3121 The opening bank balance at 1st April 2024 was £2.596.26. The BAVO Solar Grant 23124 funding of £1 186 carried forward into Ihis financial
year, also a Solar Grant of £3.000 awarded and received Nov 24 use by October 25. £795 of the SoL?al Isolation grant awarded in Jan 2024 was also carried forward lo provide Babis Bach Babtes bilingual story & music sessions for pr&school children and their familieslcarers, along wf(h toys and resources for the group. A generous dona.On of £3,929 was received from a local communrty group that had closed during the Covld epidemic, providing us with essential unrestricted funds to deliver our purp)se and aims. and helping to futur8 proof our charity. Total Income for the year was £7,754.08 Totsl Expenditure for the year was £2.048.95 leaving a net figure of £5,705.13.
