The objeclive of the chaiity is To promote for
the benefft of the inhabitants of Penyfai.

charity. was a very thallenging year in
relation to prO￿dIng access to activÈties for
the communty benefft because the COVID
I￿kdOWn rules prevented normal socaal
interactron.
Due to the restrictions the trustee5 have
continued to meet virtually during the year to
disujss and start making plans for future
activities, when restrictions are eased.
Our key aim inÉbally was to protect the
village greenlptaying field. knovm locally as
the Pheasant field. as a community amenity.
A public meeting was organised at the
school in July 2018 more than 200 local
residents in attendan￿. As a result of our
disryjssions wilh BCBC (the local authority)
and representatives of NHCC (Newcastle
Higher Community Council) the local
authority agreed to a Community Asset
Transfer (CAT) of the Pheasant r￿Id on a 35
year lease. NHCC agreed to take full
restx)nsibilty for the CAT and ongoing
rna1ntenan￿ of the fietd. The legal
agreement vras somewhat delayed due to
the pandemic, the initial aim to transfer on
1 st Awil 2020 was therefore finalised and
the formal trdnsfer took la￿ in Au
ust

2021. A fijrther CAT will take place in 2022
for the area known as Cavendish Park.
The Pheasant Field and Cavendish Park
have been a(Lessible 2417 throughout the
period to everyone, promding much needed
outdoor re(xeation space for Iot21
inhabttants to exercÈse for the benefft of their
physi¢xl and mental heatlh.
PVCA will continue working dosely with
NHCC to arrange events & activities on the
grounds. We have set up a Community
onsultation via Survey Monkey to identify
at acbwbes our local wmmunity members
iuld like to develop within the local area.
A Communty LÉtter pick group was also set
up in August 2021. in Gdlaboration with
Keep Wales Tidy. The group meets monthly
to undertake o)mmunty litter picks.

to support the inttial setting up costs of our
group. however most of this grant has been
carried fOr￿ard into the next financial year.

Total In￿)me was £3039.29. Re￿Ipts on
unrestricted funds was £150 donation. We
y￿re successful in r￿1VIng a community
grant of £2889.29 from the Sunlrfe Solar
Farm fund but due to the Covid situation we
were unable to utrliso the majortty of this
fund for ts original purpose. The Charity
spent £355.06 on set up and running
expenses (Stationery & telephone, Publicity
and Bank charges). The Balan￿ carried
forward on restricted funds at 31 st March
totalled £2889.29. the balance on
unrestrictgj funds at 31st March total￿1
£150.
The trustees have reviewed the Teserves of
the charity and the Folicy is to maintain ff
possible a balan￿ of unrestricted funds to
meet stx months. operdting costs in the
event that incx)me sources are not available
(e.g. during Covid lockdown) or other

tharity, the trustees have agreed a reserve
of £150 whith is equal to approL 6 months
