PL:21 Transition Initiative Annual Report Year Ending 31[st] December 2022.

We have organised River Cleans in the river Erme through Ivybridge and supported the establishment of a Repair Café. We have contributed views on planning applications in so far as they fail to provide adequately for Active travel. We have supported the groups working to improve biodiversity in both the Erme and Yealm river catchments.

Our main focus has been on Active travel. Our Safe Paths for All project, which seeks the establishment of safe corridors for pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchairs etc, is being supported in this by the major school in the area, local councillors, our local MP, and the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust which support handicapped adults. The results of much of this work will feature in the 2023 annal report.

We have funded eight Big Bike Revival events, teaching both maintenance and safe riding skills

We obtained a grant of £6,000 for a professional study for traffic free path between Ivybridge and Bittaford. And have appointed Sustrans to carry out the work..
