## **Annual Report for 1/6/2020 to 5/4/2021** 

## **Events During Reporting Period** 

The Corfu Umbrella CIO (“CU”) was registered on 1/6/2020.  In the reporting period we established a bank account, which was time-consuming because of the COVID 19 pandemic.  “CashPlus” were the only bank account able to process an application from a newly incorporated CIO that we were able to identity.  We will consider an alternative bank account once more banks return to normal operations.  The account was opened on 9/3/2021. 

Only three transactions occurred in the period: 

9/3/2021 Donation of £100 from a trustee 22/3/2021 Donation of £210 from a family member of a trustee 2/4/2021 Payment of banking account opening fee of £10 

CU’s assets as at 5/4/21 were therefore £300, consisting entirely of our bank account balance. 

CU has no other assets and no employees. 

An application was made to HMRC to register CU as a charity (in order to be eligible for Gift Aid and other tax treatments).  This process also took longer than normal because of the COVID 19 pandemic and was still ongoing at the end of the reporting period. 

We have identified two projects suitable for future support.  Both are animal welfare projects in northern Corfu. 

## **Charitable status and objects** 

CU operates in England And Wales and Greece.  It was registered on 01 June 2020 as a Charitable Incorporated Institution (“CIO”). 

The object of CU is to advance for the public benefit such charitable purposes as the trustees see fit from time to time, in particular but not exclusively on the island of Corfu, Greece.
