## **OAKHANGER PROJECT CHAIRMAN OF THE TRUSTEES REPORT – FEB 2026**

Dear Members, Supporters and Friends,

I am honoured to be writing my first report as Chairman of the Oakhanger Project, having recently taken over the role from Annabel. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to thank Annabel for her leadership, commitment and the strong foundation she has helped build. Her work has ensured the continued success and stability of the charity, and I am pleased to continue that direction.

Following on from the successes of 2025, this year promises to be another exciting and productive period for the Project. We are planning a full programme of camps, kayaking activities and a wide range of outdoor and social opportunities that remain central to our mission. These activities continue to provide a safe and supportive environment where children, carers and young people can develop confidence, independence and social connections. The impact of these experiences on personal growth remains at the heart of everything we do.

We are particularly grateful for the generous funding received from a number of organisations through the Vantage funding programme. This support has been instrumental in enabling the expansion and sustainability of our work. We are hopeful that this funding will continue to grow throughout 2026, allowing us to invest further in activities, equipment and the infrastructure needed to support even more participants. Continued financial backing ensures that we can widen access and maintain the high standards of safety and quality that define the Oakhanger Project.

My vision for 2026 is to strengthen how we plan and support our activities by enabling more accurate forecasting across the Project. Improved forecasting will allow us to request funding through Vantage in a more targeted and evidence-based way, recognising that funding provided by supporting organisations must be used for the specific purposes for which it is requested. By aligning our activity planning closely with funding applications, we can ensure that resources are allocated effectively, appropriately and transparently. Alongside this, we are working to make key documentation and operational materials more readily available online, improving accessibility, collaboration and continuity. This will help streamline administration, support volunteers and trustees, and ensure that information can be accessed quickly whenever it is needed.

None of our achievements or aspirations would be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, staff, supporters and partner organisations. Their time, energy and commitment enable us to deliver meaningful experiences to those who benefit from our services. The Board remains committed to responsible governance and to supporting the long-term future of the charity.

We look forward to another year of progress, inclusion and opportunity, and to building on the strong momentum established in recent years.

Jason Roberts

Chairman of the Trustees, Oakhanger Project
