CHARITY COMMISSION FOR ENGIANO AND WALES Trustees, Annual Report for the period From 011011202S Perlod start data 3111212025 Period ond dats Charity name: Kettering Foodbank Charity ragistration numbgr. 1189703 Objectives and Actlvities Kettering Foodbank exists because no one should go hungry. We provide people with food and basic household items in a time of crisis and help to identify and resolve the undertying issues that cause them to fall into food poverty and to help prevent food wasle by collecting shortlout of date items from supermarkets. To ensure we best se￿e our customers and supporters. Kettering Foodbank tracks usage of donations, this allows us to best allocate resources and help individuals become less dependant on using foodbanks. Achlevements and Performance At the stsrt of 2025 we experienced the usual increase in demand for our services in JanuarylFebruary. We continue to do all assessments over the phone making it easier for those in the surrounding area and those with mobilty problems to access our services. With Foodbanks very much in the news this year this has raised awareness of our needs leading to very generous financial donations from Businesses, Communty Groups and Churches as well as tremendous support from individuals within the general public. Apart from Harvest Festival and Christm, non perishable donation have gone down and we spent a totsl of £56,356.76 re-stocking essential food and household items and £2,340.00 on our annual sUbsCnpt￿n to Fareshare. We received HSF Governmnt grants in 2025 totalling £55.125. with grants from Local councils of £4.500. We have seen a reduction in the number people who were food bank dependant with mosl of our recipients now being new to the food bank alihough we often have to support over several weeks, demand 18 up on last year. We replaced our old van this year at a ￿st of £20,000. which we use to collect 'Short and Out of Date. items from three local Super Markets on four days a week that we distribute on a °Help yourself basis as part of our avoKling food waste commitrnent. wrth referrals from agencies. carers and even schools increasing plus we now supply the 'Rough Sleepers. team wsth items. This now requires two people on the phones collecting client infomiation in order to provide the best possible service. We have taken on more part time volunteers in order to keep up with the work load especially as we work towards finding lasting solutions rather than just sts'cking a plaster on the problem. Due to the generosty of especialty business donors in the run up to Chrislmas and a local communty drive we ended 2025 with good stock levels and financial income ex￿ding outgoings by £11,973.04 although this is well down on 2024 we are still in a strong position to continue meeting the needs of those in a crisis of food poverty in Kettering and surrounding area in the future.
