Review of Activities

In July 2023 the Trust submitted an application to the Foyle Foundation for funding to cover the cost of a new, bespoke project website with a high degree of capability and usability in both back and front ends. A quotation was sought from the Sheffield Digital Humanities Institute who specialize in producing websites of the kind the Trust sought. This quotation was for £15,004, and funding for this amount was sought from The Foyle Foundation. The application was successful and in December 2023 a grant of £15,000 was received by the Trust from the Foyle Foundation. Work on the website was to commence in February 2024.

The Trust continued to benefit from the research expertise of RA Natalie Wilcox, who was employed as a contractor on the project for a fixed fee each month.

Trustee Dr Joanne Edwards continued to work with local history groups in Somerset to encourage their engagement with the letters produced by the project, incorporating those letters into research projects and other activities connected to local history.

The Trustees also continued, with Ms Wilcox’s assistance to obtain images of all letters of Hannah More for transcription and use on the project.
