STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees sets our future aims and priorities focusing on strategic planning and governance and also evaluates our performance and progress in our work to alleviate poverty and suffering.

The Board of Trustees appraises the Senior Management Team and can make appointments to it as well as dismissals. The Board of Trustees also make sure that we satisfy the regulatory requirements on us as a charity and works with key stakeholders.

Recruiting and Appointing Trustees

All our trustees are volunteer, chosen because they all have the diverse range of skills, knowledge and experience that we need to respond to the challenges of today. Stakeholders and partners may nominate trustees and sometimes we will make a personal approach to potential candidates.

Governing document

Yaqeen Trust Ltd refers to the charity company with a governing document and Memorandum and Articles incorporated 14 Nov 2019 as amended by Special resolution dated 16 Mar 2020.

Responsibilities of Trustees

The annual report and financial statements are prepared according to the relevant law and approved by the trustees.

The trustees keep adequate accounting records and they show and explain our transactions. The records also disclose our financial position with reasonable accuracy at any time and enable trustees to ensure that the financial statements comply with Charity Commission Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 2015.

Grant Making Policies

We provide grants to projects if the request meets our charitable objectives and criteria. Project grant making is managed according to a designated process, which is documented in our Operational Risk-Management Framework. We aim to treat all grant applications professionally, equally and fairly. We make the final decision as to eligibility to receive a grant, at our discretion.

Public Benefit

We develop strategic plans to make certain that we provide maximum public benefit and achieve our strategic objectives, which fall under purposes defined by the Charity Act 2006.

3

OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGIC ACTIVITIES FOR THE BENEFIT

The objects of the charity are set below:

The charity’s activities carried out in the year 2022

Orphan and Education Support in Pakistan

During the year, our charitable organization focused on two major activities to help those in need. Firstly, during the holy month of Ramadan, we launched a campaign to provide food packs to Syrian refugees. These food packs were distributed to various refugee camps and communities, aiming to alleviate hunger and provide essential nutrition during this significant period. The initiative received a tremendous response from donors, allowing us to reach a significant number of beneficiaries.

Secondly, we organized a charity homeless dinner in Manchester. This event was aimed at addressing the issue of homelessness in the city and providing a warm and nutritious meal to those who are less fortunate. The dinner brought together volunteers, donors, and homeless individuals, fostering a sense of community and compassion.

4

Achievements and Performance

Over the course of the year, Yaqeen Trust has undertaken impactful charitable activities to support those in need. We organized special charity dinners, where compassionate individuals like you came together to share warmth and kindness. Through these dinners, we were able to serve approximately 600-700 people with delicious and nutritious meals, fostering a sense of community and care.

Additionally, we directed our efforts towards helping Syrian refugees who have been displaced from their homes and are facing challenging circumstances. With the generous contributions of our donors, we provided essential food packs to around 700-800 Syrian refugee individuals and families. These food packs offered them sustenance and hope during difficult times, providing some relief in their plight.

None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the incredible support of our donors. Your compassion and generosity have been instrumental in making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. We remain committed to continuing our mission of providing aid and assistance to those in need, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation for your ongoing support. Together, we can bring positive change and create a better future for those facing adversity. Thank you for being a part of our journey at Yaqeen Trust.
