Responsibillties of trustees for the financial statements As explained more fully In the trustees, responsibllttles statement set out on page 4, the trustees are respon%ble for the Preparatic￿ cl the finanaal ststements and for being satlsfied that they give a true and falr vtew, and for such internal ¢￿trol as the trustees dete￿Ine is necessary to enable the preparatim of financlal ststements that are free from material misstatement, Whetr￿ due to fraud or error. In preparfrKJ the flnancial statements, the trustees are respOn￿ble for assesslng the tharws ablllty to conunue as a going con￿rn, dlscloslng, as appllcable, matters related to going contsrn and using the going con￿rn ba&s of accounting unless the trustees either intend to liquidate the chartty or to cease operations, cff have no realistic altemative but to do so. Auditorfs responslbllltles for the audlt af the flnancial ststements Our obJettives are to obtsln reasonable assurance about whether the finandal statsments as a whole are free from materlal mlsstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor's re￿t that includes wr oplnlon. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assuran￿ but Is not a guarantee that an audit condutted in accordan￿ with ISAS (UK) will alway5 detect a material misstatement when it exists. Mi5Statements can artse from fraud or error and are considered materlal if, individually or in the aggregate. they could ￿a9)nablY be expected to Influen￿ the economic deci%ons of users tsken on the basls of these financial ststements. Irwularttles, Includlng fraud, are Instsn￿$ of non-compllance with laws and regulations. We design procedures In line wlth our reswnsibilltles, outlined above, to detett material misstatements in respert of irregularities, Including fraud. The extent to whith our procedures are capable of detetting irregular￿leS, Ind￿1ng fraud Is detailed below: Based on cmjr uThJersianding of the charity and the environment in which it opeTrte5, we identified that the principal risks of non-compjlan￿ wlth laws and regulations related to non-compliance with the Charities Law. aTrJ we consKiered the extent to which non-complian￿ might have a materlal effett on the financial ststements. We also consldered those laws and regulatlons that have a dlrert Impact on the preparation of the financial statements such as the Charities Act 2011. We evalvated managemenys incentives and OPFK)rtunitie5 for fraudulent manlpulation of the financial statements (induding the rlsk of oveThide of controls) and determined that the princtpal risks We￿ related to Income not bein9 recognised in the correct period. Audit procedures perfomed by the engagement team Indthled: InSp￿Ir￿j c0ffesp0nd￿ce with regulators and tsx authorities; Dlscusslons with management induding consideration of k￿wn or suspected inStsn￿5 of Tr)n- Complian￿ wlth laws and regulation and fraud,, Evaluating managemenys controls designed to prevent and det￿ Ir￿UlarItIeS. Identifying and testing Journals Challenging assumptlons and Judgements made by management in thelr critical accountlng estimates Because of the inherent limitstions of an audlL there is a risk that we wlll not detect all irregularfcies, indudlng those leading to a material misstatement in the financial ststements or non-complian￿ with regulatlon. Thts rlsk increases the more that compliance with a law or regulation is removed from the events and transactlons refiected in the flnancial statements, as we will be less likely to bKome awafft of Instan￿ of non-compllance. The risk Is also greater regarding irregul3rlUes occurring due to fraud ratr*r than error, as fraLMI involves Intentional concealmen¢ forgery, collusion, omission or misrepresentation.
