## **Section C                    Objectives and activities** 

The objectives of the CIO are :- 

- (1) **To advance in life and relieve needs of young people through** : (a) The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life. (b) Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities, and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

- (a) advancing the education of the public in healthy eating, healthy living and good mental health.

- (c) providing health education, training and coaching courses which promote physical health and fitness. 

   - 1) Continue to Develop training packages (aimed at all ages) related to physical health and wellbeing. 

   - 2)  Continued to build new partnerships with a range of organisations tasked with support Health and Fitness 

   - 3) Funding Applications submitted for work and projects 1/4/23 onwards. 

   - 4) Worked with a range of provision supporting development of sports and fitness sessions ( all session supported were Better Futures commitment to volunteering our time and skills to deliver sporting activities on a volunteer basis).

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

- 1) Continue to offer services as Sports and Health Volunteers to local youth groups. 

- 2) Provided support and guidance to local youth clubs and groups on Healthy Lifestyles and Actions 

- 3) Delivered or support Fitness and sports programme to over 9 youth groups in the Bradford Are. 

Please note that all the above services were provided free of charge and supported by Volunteers who have a sports or youth work background.

Better Futures have over the last year provided support to other groups on a voluntary basis. We are in the process of looking at more substantial involvement by applying for essential running costs.
