Our goal is twofold: - To raise funds that enhance and enrich the experiences of pupils at More House School. To build community, helping families feel welcomed and connected, whether they are new to the school or long-standing members. FoMH supports a wide range of events, initiatives and resources that benefit pupils directly and contribute to the inclusive, nurturing environment that More House is known for. - As a registered charity (No. 1189576), **Friends of More House** exists to: ## **Support the education and wellbeing of pupils** - by funding enrichment opportunities, specialist equipment, and resources that go beyond what the school budget can cover. ## **Foster strong relationships** - between parents, carers, staff, and the wider school community — creating a sense of belonging and shared purpose. Everything we do — from festive events and fundraising to learning experiences and community socials — helps More House pupils thrive. ## **Membership** All parents and carers of current pupils are automatically members of Friends of More House. Supported by friends with refreshments. - Launch of a new Parent Seminar series, starting with the Self Esteem Team on mental health. Christmas Fayre & Laser Show reimagined as a Christmas Market, raising **£5,029** Bake Sales raised **£742** ## **Trinity Term** Trinity Term - Sports Day Catering raised **£1,693.** - Parent Seminar with Lucinda Miller on diet and wellbeing. ## **Lent Term** Lent Term Bake Sales raised **£322** Burns Night fundraiser (with World Challenge boys) — hugely successful and returning in 2026. First Clothes Recycling Day with Bag2School — now a regular feature. Your support takes many forms—time, ideas, effort, donations and unwavering enthusiasm—and each makes a real difference.** ## **Trustees & Governance** Friends of More House is a registered charity (No. 1189576) governed by a board of dedicated volunteer trustees, who provide oversight, vision, and hands-on leadership throughout the year — all without remuneration. ## **We are incredibly grateful to our current trustees:** ## **Kate Macpherson** – Chair A driving force behind FoMH, Kate brings energy, clarity and heart to every part of our work. Her commitment to inclusion, creativity and connection is woven into every event and initiative. **Kim Doxey – Treasurer** Kim keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes — making sure we always have the right funds in place for events, getting payments sorted quickly, and tackling all the (sometimes tiresome!) maths that keep us on track. Her calm efficiency and attention to detail are deeply appreciated. ## **Aniki Franklin – Secretary** As Secretary, Aniki brings structure and clear communication to our meetings and processes. **Heather Shepherd – Trustee** Heather is the friendly face behind the Second-Hand Uniform Shed and a long-standing advocate for affordability and access — offering support that many families truly value. ## **Jonathan Hetherington – Trustee** As Headmaster and trustee, Jonathan offers strategic insight and continuity, ensuring FoMH ~~remains closely aligned with the school~~ ’ ~~s broader goals and ethos.~~ _Page 8_ 1 Sept 2024 - 31 August 2025 FoMH Annual Summary ## **Acknowledgements** ## 💛 **Special Thanks** - **Heather Shepherd** – for running the **Uniform Shed** with kindness, calm, and commitment. - **Sophie Burrows** – for **marketing and design,** bringing a professional polish to every campaign and event. - **Anita Stewart, Jane & Ollie Kubicki, Kim Doxey** – for incredible event organisation and financial coordination. - **The entire Estates, IT, Caretaking, Catering, and School Office teams** – for supporting events behind the scenes, often outside of school hours. - **Our Development Office** – for collaborative support on joint campaigns and fundraising logistics. - **Class and Boarding Reps** – who welcome new families, keep communication flowing, and help build community from day one. - **Volunteer Team** s – including event helpers, bakers, decorators, raffle coordinators, ticket sellers, and stall-holders. - **Parent contributors to seminars and talks** – helping us share knowledge and experience with others. - And of course **: every single parent, pupil, and staff member who donated, showed up, shared a post, bought a ticket, offered a lift, or simply said “yes” — we see you, and we thank you.** ## **Employer-Supported Donations** We would like to express our sincere thanks to those parents, carers, and supporters who have contributed through employer-supported schemes. This includes Payroll Giving, matched donation programmes, annual pledged contributions, and time given through employer volunteering schemes. These avenues of support not only bring in vital funds but also highlight the wider recognition of our cause within workplaces across the UK. ## **Independent Examination** As FoMH’s income for the year was above the £25,000 threshold, a independent examination is required under charity law. The accounts have been prepared by the Treasurer and reviewed by the trustees. ## **Trustee Statement** The trustees confirm that Friends of More House has kept proper accounting records and that the financial statements give a true and fair view of the charity’s affairs. The trustees also confirm that the charity has acted in accordance with its governing document and relevant regulations during the year. ## **Reserves Policy** FoMH aims to maintain a minimum reserve of £10,000 to ensure continuity of planned commitments and to cover any unexpected costs.
