The Chartty's Bookshop {known ats the Book Den} conts'nue$ to opef81e al ils latest loGalh)n at
86188 ChurGh Walk since it opened on 1 ￿ July 2017. Thère ar8 less th8n hvo years remaining on
the t8n-y8ar lease acquired when ihe Book Den moved to ils new premises. The leasg wa8
transferred to the C50 from tha fomier Charty Trust trustees as port of the change of charty status
that tock place in 2021.
The Bts)k Den continues, as In p88t yeard, to be run by members of the Burg•8s Hlll D18trict Lion#
Club and their voluntary h8lpors.
For the period the Book Den has produced a net surplLts of £47.100. No value has been included in
the financial statements of the considerable asset of volunteer assistance provid8d by Lions Club
members. their partners, or Other shop workers. The charity continue5 to be very grateful for this
valuablé pool of 8UPPOrt and wi8he8 lo thonk all concerned. In addit￿n, our continued gratitude and
thanks go to the many members of th6 local community who kindly donate bcoks lo Ihe Ch8flty.

The curronl lease on the Book Dan will expire in November 2026 and with the uncertainlles of
whether a new lease will be granted by the landlord, and the future of the Club'8 main fUnd48￿ing
vehicle in qugstlon, the Tru81e8s fomied a working group, headed by the Bookshop Manager. and
Including two Iruslees, to consid8r th8 opllons and report to the Boord with ils recommondalions.
