To provlde lelsure, recreatlonal and educatlonal facllltles for the resldents of
Comberton and Its nelghbourhood.
Prlnclpal actlvltl•s and publlc beneflt
The Trust dellvers publlc beneflts by operatlng the vlllage hall efficlently, safely and
to hlgh standards on behalf of the communltyi by developlng Its facllltles for the
benefit of users and potentlal users; and by inltiatlng new communlty a¢tlvltles
onslstent wlth our objectlves.
The hall facllltles are avallable to all resldents of Comberton and Its nelghbourhood,
Irrespective of oender, age, race, or polltical or religious persuaslon.
The hall Is managed by Trustees who are all volunteers. They are asslsted by a
cleaner, a eare-taker and an admlnlstrator, all part-tlme, Otherwise, all the
operatlonal work Is carrled out by Trustees or contrartors employed to carry out
speclflc speciallst tasks.
Trustees and frlends (volunteers) work together to stage fundralslng events to
augment the Income from lettlng charges. In partlcular, the Easter and Christmas
Fabrs are very important and also serve to bring vlllagers together at these
signlflcant tlmes of the year,
Vlllage groups uslng the hall regularly are encouraged to pay a small afflllatlon fee
annually which gives them reduced hlrlng rates. Vlllage residents also pay lower
hire fees than non-vlllage hlrers. All individuals and groups must pay to hire the
hall.
In carrying out these actlvltles, the Trust has taken Into account the guldellnes on
publlc beneflt laid down by the Charity Commission.

The Village Hall operates a weekly café, monthly Bingo, film screenlngs, and opera
showln9S.
These actlvitles are appreciated by many lonely individuals and communlty groups.
The Trustees contlnue the long-establlshed traditlon of hosting a meal for the over-
65's In the vlllage.
The Trustees also encourage and support many local group actlvltles for all ages.

Ilne wlth expectatlons.

The charlty has a reserve for future expenses Includlng ongolng refurblshment
and replacement of depreclatlng Items.

I report on the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023 set out on pages 6 to 9.

The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's
Trustees consider that an audit Is not requlred for this year (under Section 14412) of the
Charltles Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an Independent examlnatlon is required.
It is my responslblllty to:
examine the accounts under Sectlon 145 of the 2011 Act;
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Dlrectlons given by the Charlty
Cornmi55lon (under Sectlon 145(5)Ib) of the 2011 Act). and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basls of preparatlon
The accounts (financial statements) have been prepared on the accruals basls, with items
cognised at cost or transaction valve unless otherwise stated in the relevant notes to
these accounts. The financlal statement5 have been prepared in accordance wlth the
Statement of Recommended Practlce.. Accounting and Reportbng by Charities p￿parIng
their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republlc of Ireland IFRS 1021 Sssued on 16 July 2014 •nd the Flnanciol Reporting
standard appllcable In the Unlted Klngdom and Republlc of Ireland (FRS 102) and the
CharltSes Act 2011.
The charlty constitutes a publlc beneflt entlty as deflned by FRS 102.
